PSPVBA v1.0.2 Released!

greg | June 28, 2006

A new version of PSPVBA, the Gameboy Advance emulator, has been released by none other than ZX-81! The previous beta release suffered from certain speed issues rendering it unusable in some cases; however, this one improves on that considerably, as well in many other aspects! Below are the included updates in v1.0.2:

  • Major speed improvement!
  • Better Sound quality (rewritten)
  • Add new render modes (smooth)
  • Zip file support
  • PNG screenshots (instead of BMP)
  • Many bug fixes
  • Code cleaning

Have a look at the README.txt for more details.

Download PSPVBA v1.0.2 - includes two binary versions (for 2.x and 1.5 FW) and the source code.

Props ZX-81!

ya dont release an emu unless it has capabilities of at least 10 fps which is hardly even playable itself but an improvement from this 2-5 fps crap.

HEY HEY HEY you fauckn bashers how about you STFU. You think its ok to do that to these great people huh? think about that. If you dissapoint these people then they will stop working and then there will be less hacks out and then you will be little n00bs complaining ” ooo how come no one has made a gba emu, oooo please someone make a downgrader… ” and the hackers will respond ” fauck off you asshole pieces of shit make it yourself seening as how you cant take anyone else’s apprietiation for work”.

To those who are flaming the flamers: it’s called flame bait, just ignore them, they just want attention.

To author of this emu: thanks for the update, keep up the good work.

I’m on v1.0.3 and I’ve been through all three versions, one huge flaw is that the emulator doesn’t play games over 12mb. Everything else works great. I’ve tried a 6mb .gba file game, and it worked very well. I’ve been trying to work Pokemon: Fire Red (16mb and compressed to a 11.9mb zip) all three emulator, it gave me a white screen and my PSP turns off. Hopefully v1.0.4 would fix this problem. But plays all other games very well.
