No point in 1.5? By the sounds of things this exploit starts at the GTA bug. So to play homebrew or any ISO loaders would potentially mean loading up GTA every single time..Bah!

I’m waiting to see if someone (MPH, maybe) takes advantage of this and makes another downgrader. My PSP is a 1.5, but I’d still like to see the 2.0+ users given the ability to use homebrew.

Just install this like any other program you would run under the eloader. It creates a file called odd.bin on the root of your memory card.

with devhook and this is there any point to the modchip now?

First for all the noobs desperately trying to install this on their PSPs, don’t bother, all it is is a proof of concept, there are no loaders etc. working on it yet, it’s only for developers thus far. That said, this fucking rules! I have a 1.5, and with devhook i’m not even missing out on anything these days, but man this rocks, glad to see the PSP seen for 2.0+ isn’t dead yet.
Just out of interest, anyone know if this is compatible with 1007/1006 psps, as a downgrader (or compatible homebrew) is much needed there.

The reason i states 1.50 was clearly the better choice is because i seen several 1.50 questioning the ‘point’ of having 1.50 over 2.5/2.6. Upgrading to 2.6/2.7 would mean alot of GTA loads to run homebrew.

Good news, but still a pain to load up GTA every time to use homebrew or loaders. If you’ve got 2.5/2.6 PSP then great but if you’ve got 1.5 there really is no benefit to upgrading (especially with the new DevHook which lets you boot into 2.5 without upgrading).

thank you thank you thank you. You guys freakin rock the house. To all you gamer peeps trying to use this right now just chill out it’s not going to work yet it just the exploit not finished. You have to wait a bit for it to be user friendly. Dude all the 1.5 psps just lost a lot of value on ebay, even though it’s still better. I don’t feel like such a tool i upgraded to 2.6 now.

i was about to upgrade and buy a modchip, but i guess being patient does pay off, i realize it doesnt work YET (its only proof afterall) but soon i will be able to use custom FW via devhook and use all of my apps that i downloaded waiting for the money for my modchip, YAY!!! 2.6 doesn’t suck as much anymore (BTW there are still plenty of copies of GTALCS here in japan that are pre-bug-fix (all american though) ok im done with my raveing, now the rant! everyone in here that is older than 3 years old (should be all of us at least physically) should have seen bambi by now, ‘if you cant say anything nice dont say anything at all’ and a million kudos to the first person who tells me who said that (not the character that prompted it, but the one that actually said it, hint, its before bambi grows up)

-Run A 1.50 Eboot Update

-Install Update

this is great, been away 3 days because of the kings cross underground fire. no worries upgrading to 2.5-6. this is great, but the pple that upgraded to 2.71 because of the modchip are kicking themselves.

ok this ia bad ass but wight have a cane 2 make a 2.60 and a 2.50 downgrade if this EBOOT can run all FW 1.50 homebrew then we might have a shot 2 make a downgrader but we need a overflow that works under eboot and well the overflow will run under the Kernel Mode

This is very good news indeed. I’ve got some buddies with 2.5/2.6 that are going to freak when I tell them this. This is a great step in the right direction. Good job developers.

to duncanyoyo1 and mike, its proof of concept, not an eloader, it doesnt do anything yet except write a couple files to prove that it can gain access, fanjita will probably have a working eloader soon, i would guess in a week or less, there is a downgrader being tested right now, it works for very few, but the kernel access will allow anyone with a psp 2.5\.6 to be able to do everything a 1.5 can do, i wouldn’t try to downgrade, just put up with the wait time. with this and devhook you will be able to emulate 1.5 and play like a 1.5 (but why would you want to, the eloader will do everything that 1.5 will do and then some without having to emulate (until devhook gets an emulation of 2.7/71 up and running) thanks hichhikr and thanks in advance fanjita, im proud of you guys
