I’m sure you all know what ScummVM is by now; however, if you don’t – here’s a quick synopsis: ScummVM is an open-source program available on numerous platforms, including the PSP, of course. It allows you to run many old point-and-click classic adventure games, such as [some of the ones I remember growing up]: Monkey Island, Day of the Tentacle, Sam and Max, Broken Sword 1 & 2, etc… Plus many more. You will require the data files for each game in order to play.

ScummVM 0.9.0 “The OmniBrain loves you” was released yesterday – the PSP port has just arrived today from Joost Peters, Paolo Costabel, and Thomas Mayer.

Import changes include:

• New and improved GUI
• Support for 2 new games – The Legend of Kyrandia and The Feeble Files.
• Reworked detection code for SCUMM games. Now all your fan translations will work out of the box
• Added subtitle configuration controls to the options dialog
• New official Atari/MiNT port
• Much improved WinCE port
• Numerous bugfixes in the SCUMM, SAGA, Simon, Broken Sword 2 and BASS engines
