This new utility, entitled Flip, comes from homebrew author modsyn - developer of many PSP homebrew releases, pMEnc, jMEnc, LuaLinker, just to name a few…
“Flip” was written to accommodate modsyn’s personal needs with his Manga addiction; however, it was passed along to us for those who may find it useful. The README.txt describes Flip best…
This program is simple enough, it takes comic images that are vertically oriented and flips them so they are easier to read on a PSP. If any of the images are already horizontally oriented then they are not flipped.
How to use:
Make sure you have your PSP connected and USB mode enabled when you start the program. Otherwise it will make a PSP/PHOTO folder on the drive you run the program from. Then just drag the folders containing the chapters of your manga [or any photos] onto the window.
For each folder it will ask if you want to rename the output. This is just for the name of the folder it creates on the PSP, not the actual image file names in the folders.
After each folder is written on the PSP, all the images’ timestamps are updated to ensure that they are in correct order when viewing.
Also, each image is saved as a .JPG so you can use this no matter what firmware your PSP has installed.
Requirements:
Java (at least 1.5) installed. Windows users, see Notes.Notes:
For the Windows platform, although ‘Flip’ is distributed as a single .EXE file, it is actually a hand-written self extracting JAR launcher. If you would rather run it as a pure Java application feel free to use the file ‘flip.jar’ in the ‘All_other_OS’ folder
