you have to delete that one already there
and then make a new connection you can edit it.

also use manual settings and type the shit in the browser works better and faster

Does this change the firmware, by actually writing the firmware, or does it trick it into thinking its the 2.5+ firmware?

I tried to use this nice app. I copied everything to the root (4 folder went automaticly to PSP/..)
So i startet dev hook. when tried 2 way to do it. 1. auto. and 2. i modified as descriped @pspupdates.com. Both times the result was is crash while start up of the system. I mean 1 second I saw the psp background moving (in black) and then it stoped and crash after 30 seconds. After this I had to set the firware (1.5) setting.

What did I wrong?

This is good yet bad. This this works great and finally allows me to play GTA and Socom without updating to 2.0. However, yesterday, I just bought a 2.71 PSP to use for updates/games, which was now kinda pointless. Atleast I got it for a really good price (only $130) and it came with a screen protector installed with a really nice NYKO charging case. Well, I guess I could sell it for profit, but then again, this ones in even better condition then my own PSP and I dunno what the future will be like. They might make 3.0 unhacakable and impossible to be emulated. Besides, I wanna play those classic PS1 games.

Works, great, but Device Hook Launcher v0.41 doesn’t work for me, had to use v0.40…

I don’t get how the .ISO’s are supposed to load. I make sure all the settings are right, then I run the app to get in 2.5 firmware. That works fine but the only the game that’s in my UMD drive will load and not the one I selected. What am I doing wrong?

how do you install this?? i run devhook, choose 2.50 firmware, then my iso…it restarts, goes to a black screen, crashes and restores my system defaults to 1.50..

Allright, this has gone on long enough. I have been successful until this moment on EVERY hack for my 1.5. I am by no means a true hacker though, more of a skilled power user really.

I have looked on the forums of countless “scene” sites. EVERYONE claims they have got this working. EVERYONE lists the games they have been successful booting. EVERYONE asks “Specific” questions that NEVER get answered with details.

NOONE has been able to explain what is actually necessary to do this flawlessly. NOONE can actually be specific. No “hand holding” is necessary here, just a little truth.

What exactly is TONEZILLA looking for you ask? Here it is.

1. Is the zip file complete or do I need to get additional decrypted Flash 0 and 1 folders for EACH firmware? If so EXACTLY where? Or better yet, how about a link “rapidshare,etc” for the updated “dh” directory from ANYONE who has successfully done this.

2. What UMD must be in the drive? One with 2.5 update on it or will Wipeout do?

3. I know where to copy the directories on the stick, so don’t bother with the obvious.

4. Quote to me SPECIFIC settings for each menu option UMD Select, UMD Mount, UMD Version, Firmware, CPU Clock, and BOOT Select for the first time I run DevHook. Then after it reboots successfully in 2.5 emu, what next to run an iso or cso that is already in the iso of the root.

If you are going to respond in generalities don’t bother. I have asked specifics, respond with specifics. If you are illiterate with English, can’t spell, don’t know how to use punctuation, or don’t know how to properly form sentences, don’t bother commenting.

do i need a 2.5 game in the UMD drive while running this program? i have a 2.6 game (pursuit force) which i use the Gen3sis homebrew 2.6 loader program to load it. (i have a 1.5 firmware psp). so, my question is, will this work if i have the 2.6 game in my umd drive or do i need to get a 2.5 firmware game in the umd drive while this program puts the firmware onto the memory card or w/e

my psp freezes on reboot. i have a game in the drive and i use the exact specs that they say to use (in some forums) and i get nothing. the game i have in is burnout, do i need something that is newer or older? everyone is getting it to work, but how?

If you mean the UMD that came with the PSP, then… yes. I’m running GTA with my Sampler Disk XP.

GTA ISO is not working for me, strangely enough SOCOM is working perfect,
anyone else having problems with the GTA ISO ?

i think this will solve most of your problems. It is by far the most detailed and helpful tutorial i have seen about the new devhook

This version was also not working on my psp. I downloaded another version wich is working fine! So delete this version and find another one, tell me if you succeed!

well I figured out how to get socom working I went to this link http://rapidshare.de/files/22310735/Dev … E.rar.html and downloaded devhook .41 from there then just copied and pasted it to the appropriate directories on the psp. PS: I also removed any previous versions of devhook to ensure it was a clean copy I would suggest you do the same if you want to surf the net with your psp v 1.5’s or play socom or other games good luck!

Im using the 4Gb Datal hd and i can´t get past the start Button. I set all opetions to the right setings but whn I select START its just doesn´t reboot. Is there anything i can do about it????

I recently buy a Neo PSP 8in1 adapter with a 4GB microdrive and surprisingly doesn’t work with devhook when I try to load it from de MD, but it loads ok if I load it from my 1GB MS attached to the same adaptor, any ideas? maybe something to do with MS size or speed? I don’t know this is realy weird, if anyone is having the same issue please repot it. thx

U need to wait abit longer if you leave the UMD in drive while reboot in another firmware… mine load but takes like 10 mins?

Hey, Can some1 help me with the 2.5 firmware thing. I managed to get the 2.0 running but for some reason I cant get the 2.5 up and running, I extracted the DATA.PSAR from the 2.5 EBOOT and put the data file on the main root. I cut/copied the reboot file from 2.0 to the 2.5 folder. I ran the Firmware installer and I ran the Devhook. My settings Are:
UMD-ISO:wipeout.isoUmd Iso
UMD-Mode: UMD DISC “Dynasty Warriors”
UMD Ver. : 2.xx -> 2.00
Flash : ms0: /dh/250(MSHOOK)
Clock : 222/111
FW ver. : 01.05.0001
Target : (reboot XMB)

It Would restart the psp and you would get the black wave background and It would turn off, When I turn it back on so It will autoload the game, I dont see anything that is changed. the PSP intro is still 1.5. I have a Japanese Version PSP and I downloaded the 2.0/2.5 Jap Firmware if that helps.

my psp also crashed in the intro (black waves) and for those who had the same problem than I try to format your MS and then install the v0.40 and not the v0.41… I did it and know it runs great! =D

help for you people having trouble can be found in the tutorials section of the forums. I have written a tut that you can use to get started as well as find out what possible errors may be.

what is the main difference between v0.40 and v0.41?

when devhook temporarily changes your firmware it also changes the wifi access point info, just change that and you can then connect to wifi
