PiMPStreamer 0.6
Josh | June 5, 2006
DickyDick1969 has released another update to the very popular PiMPStreamer to version 0.6. If you don’t know, PimpStreamer is a tool used to stream video files from your computer to your PSP; no use spending hours converting your video to the proper format, just stream ‘em!
Here’s what he had to say about it:
ok… I managed to get rid of a few pesky bugs… Also I tested the infinite stream stuff … and yes it did not work in 0.55.. ! Now it properly picks up the file..
Now also “minimize to system tray” and support for >1000 mp3 files in a directory. For the new features be sure to install both psp and windoze software…
Download PiMPStreamer-0.6.zip
One bug/issue still to solve.. if you want to time skip it has to be in original frame rate mode.. See Current issues for more info.
Using the infinite stream stuff: edit pimpstreamer.ini.. (windoze)
(just an example, you can name the file whatever you like)
ninfinitestreams=1
infinitestream_1=C:\inftest.mpg* Start pimpstreamer.
* Start the capture to that file C:\inftest.mpg
* Choose the file at the psp and play….

yes… minimize to systray.. that’s what i’ve been waiting for.
Whats the damn point lmfao. Why not just watch it on the computer with a bigger screen? PSP is supposed to be a portable system people.
hes got a point
How about I have a broadband phone thats capable of being a modem for my laptop computer that has a wireless card that I can set up to serv wifi to my psp, & @ home have a NAT router with the port open to my media dump……
Guess what I’m doing on the El on the morning comute.
The point is so you can watch your movie or tv shows where you want as long as you are in an active wifi zone.
Just set your router to forward the right ports and BAM your away.
If your not the person who wants to watch movies on the go via streaming then don’t download the program.
hey sorry guys but im a n00b, what is streaming?? is this aplacastion compatabel with version 2.7? also how can i forward ports with my router and conect with my psp the IP doesnt work? please respond asap…
Pritty much nothing is compatable with 2.7.
To foward the port you will have to check your routers manuual as it is differnt for each one.
if your on a PC, go start -> run
type “cmd” press enter
then type ipconfig.. this will give you the IP for that computer.
you will ahve to go to http://www.whatismyip.com/ to find your IP that you will need if you want to connect from out side of your network.
thanks heeps.
Its a GREAT idea.. and really well thought out software, I have to say I will constantly use this.. good work!

I also can not get this version to work on my 1.5 psp.
I won’t connect to the network for some reason. I noticed the code structure of the .ini files was set up different, so restructured them, but no good. App starts on both ends fine & looks good but no connection.
What’s the haps?
If anybody needs help setting up PiMPStreamer to work on an external connection (ie. you want to watch videos away from home) check out the tut I made.
