DAX ZISO v0.62 Released

greg | May 18, 2006

Dark_AleX has released DAX ZISO v0.62 - this version should fix many problems users experienced with non-functioning ISOs that were discovered in the previous release.

Fixed an important bug of the umdemulator core, which is the cause of some games working with fastloader and not working with umdemulator/daxziso.

Also new in v0.62:

  • A bug originally from the UMDEMULATOR core has been found and fixed. UMDEMULATOR didn’t handle the case where the string pointed by the parameter file (sceIoOpen, sceIoOpenAsync), or dev (sceIoDevctl) was not aligned to 4 bytes, causing an exception when that happened.
That caused incompatibility with some games (Coded Arms, Mahjong Fight and maybe others), and some homebrews (FileAssistant++, Irshell and maybe others).
  • Now daxziso prx’s and default backgrounds are in ms0:/DAXZISO. Also, moved from newlib to pspsdk libc to reduce the size of the executable.
  • Added an “experiment” to play games via usb in Direct Load, MPHGL Direct, and RUNUMD Direct modes.
This need files from psplink, which are not included. (you only need usbhostfs.prx in the psp part, and a driver and usbhostfs_pc in your computer, and edit the daxziso.ini file).

So give your games another try and let us know if they work!

Please note - DAX ZISO only functions on firmware version 1.50 — don’t ask otherwise.

Enjoy another fine release from Dark_AleX!

usb load would be nice, even though not conveniant. btw, #7, daxter never lags for me, i set my compression on 5 and it works great. it still freezes up after turning on psp from sleep…. i wish that was fixed. great job though, alex

Now (with USB Mode) we “need” a good scrolling - There are so many Isos that I have to scroll a few seconds until I see a red marked one ^^

Maybe (because of many dif Backgrounds) the ini should have the coordinates of the right scrolling area ;)

the usb thing would be wonderful, even if not conveniant, if it allows us to play games not normally playable, then we could not only play them….but maybe get a fix for them while being portable.

It seems that I’m having a problem with GTA:LCS. After loading a save game, I try and hijack a car. After this the game hangs. :(

#14 it doesnt let you play anything that doesnt already work off of your msd. i have now tested over 70 games with only ssx and gta not working for me the newer games use runumd direct load older games just direct load. this is by far the best loader out there
