YoyoFR has released v0.4 of his popular SNES emulator, SnesPSP_TYL!
v0.4 additions / fixes:
- [NEW] spc playback through openspc++.
- [NEW] sound emulation moved to media engine.
- [NEW] new gui with some sounds (beep). default key combo for GUI access is now L+R
- [NEW] have your own background and spc music played in background when in GUI => put them in logo.zip & music.zip.
- [NEW] adhoc 2 players mode. requires both players to have the same rom file.
- [NEW] Speed limiter in fps (ranging from 10 to 120fps).
- [NEW] Hack to help reading thin fonts in hires mode (”shake” the screen). activate it hack/Debug sub menu.
- [NEW] minimalist txt file viewer (buggy).
- [NEW] usb support : when in file browser or menu use R (right trigger).
- [NEW] sram is now saved if modified when accessing menu.
- [NEW] minimalist 2 players adhoc netplay. thx to Chris Swindle for his netplay code in SMS.
- [NEW] uses great OSK from danzel.
- [FIX] Frame skipping (AUTO & fixed) better handled.
- [FIX] Import savestate from snes9xTYL.
- [FIX] psp accelerated rendering issues (ff6 borders, small lines on left & righrt borders when using render!=1:1…).
- [FIX] sourcecode cleanup (not complete, stilly a bit messy).
- [BAD] still slower than 0.2 version in nosound mode (related to new pspsdk & internal changes in emu core).
It’s recommended to perform a clean install – rid any instances of SnesPSP_TYL off your memory stick, and copy this one over. It’s save to keep all your existing roms. Two versions are available for download: ME – which runs in kernel mode and uses ‘me’ for sound emulation. Standard – runs in user mode for all those 2.0+ firmware users.

# 7 Change the Frame Skip to 1 or 2, then it will run quicker, but it will be a little choppier (but you prob wont even notice it).
GUI is freaking amazing keep up the good work.
All of the roms run much slower then the last version… I hope the next version/build (that comes out this week) will improve things. Does anyone notice how slow the GUI runs when you use the new music GUI option?

CRAZINESS!!!! Gota love the snes. Now if only the gba and n64 was working as well as this “has been not working” product. Remeber when the gameboy and genesis were the only working emulators. Man, technology these days. Can’t wait till it amazes me.

it works wayy better on a 1.0 or 1.5,, ne thing higher and it might suck it up.. just change the engine to psp accel + accur.soft. ( its under video)

I must say, this is absolutely amazing! The GUI is A-Class! I love the SNES and this absolutely blows it out of the water. I am trying to get a Genesis emulator up and running (a ported version of PSPGenesis) to run as good as this. To all the boys that did this, great work!
