WHY THE HELL IS SOME PERSON GONNA GET FIRMWARE 3.0 OFF A TORRENT SITE. AFTER THE PSP BRICK PROGRAM I THINK IT’S PRETTY SAFE TO SAY THAT DOWNLOADING ANYTHING FOR THE PSP OFF A TORRENT SITE IS NOT SAFE.

Id have 2 agree with #6 and #7… if you find a way to downgrade 2.0+ fimwares, you will be a legend in the psp hacking community (e.g. fantajia)

I belive it could be possible, and we can all be happy!!

add 2.7 capabilites to a 1.5 firmware, and report as 2.8 to begin with, than to higher versions as we update.

but of course we need to see what the whole deal is about this, if it’s a true update/eboot.pbp mod or something.

has this been tested to actually install 2.6 firmware and make it seem like 3.0 ??

correct, but I don’t know where to get this, I’ve been looking around and can’t find it, if someone can give a hint, I’ll take a look at it.

If I can find it, I’ll see if it can be dumped. From there I’ll give a better idea of what exactly it is.

my hacking knowledge is not very impressive for psp, but what I would do is study it with a Hex Editor and see the difference between that so called 3.0 and the rest of the official firmwares, and see if we can immitate how it works, and fix the 1.5 eboot to show up as 2.8 or something.

All the feeds I’ve found are dead. I’ve also seen mixed feedback, some says that is installs 2.6, but others say it is just a renamed Adobe file.

I downloaded a BETA file of 3.0 and i install it while running 2.6, it just downgrades you to 1.5, You can run homebrew because i put in my memo stick a few home brew games, and they play fine, But the only problem is, in system settings it says 3.0 if you check about 15 minutes later it changes to 1.5 then quickly goes to 3.0, It just a little bug in security system, its really 1.5!

Hey but you can install this over 2.7 so you have downgraded to 2.6!!!

So if you can get a 2.60 firmware to say 3.00 and install it does that mean we could get something like 1.5 and say 2.71 and install it
