PsPectrum Emulator v0.2 Released
greg | April 30, 2006
HexDump has released an improved update of Spectrum emulator for the PSP. Currently this will run 90% of 48k/128k games, and also supports sound for 48k roms only.
New in v0.2:
- Everything ported to MGE engine (NewOlds internal engine by Micro -> Main programmer and HexDump).
- 3 Different screen sizes with filter, everything working in hardware mode.
- Fully remapable PSP buttons.
- Screenshot support (1 per game).
- ZIP support.
- perfect 48k Sound (almost).
- perfect syncronization (Ver 0.1 had various syncronizations problems I hadn’t noticed).
- New fast Blend rendering for keyboards, it doesn´t affect framerate now [Fast!!!!].
- New Keyboard with squared cursor with configurable size, key locking, and key flashing to know what keys are under cursor.
- File selector showing shots when they exist.
- GUI code rewritten to allow pressable options. Now pages are scrollable, and has been added a new look and feel.
- Possibility to save different configurations for every game.
- And some more things…
For more details - installation steps, usage instructions, etc… - open Readme.eng in any standard text editor.

Plus, What firmware is this for, What is the probability of it working on 2.xx firmware? What is it for, Explain something please people rather then just post something that we could spend 5 - 10 minutes trying to work out only to find its for 1.5 . . .
its for 1.5, i tried it out its crappy! it dont do shit on my psp !
what is this an emulator for
# 3, it’s a spectrum emulator, like it says in the first line of the article!
Not for me, i’m sure their are peeps who would dig this, but spectrum games are old and crap (grew up on a C64, still doesn’t mean they’re good games these days) great piece of work on the emulator tho.
the only good game fore the spectrum was that egg guy
sorry but i haven’t been up to date on this what is this an emulator for?
the egg guy was called Dizzy. Those were the days, Codemasters did a good job!
Well, it depends on how old you are and where you are from.
The Speccy meant nothing in the USA, but in England for most of the 80s it was neck and neck with the C64.
So if you are from a country where it makes perfect sense to drive your eight litre SUV 25 feet to the nearest burger king, and then consume 35Kg of lard before going home to ‘jack off’ in to you football helmet, and then going to Starfuck’s for a triple hi fat mocha OJ ‘to go’ and then going online to renew your subscription to the NRA, then you probably won’t appreciate the ZX Spectrum
Love
