Sandberg has released a Tetris game for the PSP. I have tested the game myself (fw 2.6) and I must say this is a fun game. It has great graphics and cool music to go along with it, overall a great homebrew game.
Here’s what Sandberg had to say about it:
PSPTris version 0.5 has been released. This is a stand alone Tetris clone for the PSP. The plan is to have it running as a plugin for PSPRadio. But it will also be released as a stand alone version, for those having 2.x firmware, which can’t use the dynamic version of PSPRadio.
This version has all the basic gameplay in place. It still needs a bit polishing, but I wanted to release this preview to get some feedback.

Use START to end the intro sequence.In the menus, use UP/DOWN for navigating and CROSS for selecting a menu and exiting a submenu. If you press SELECT on the menu it will show you the version of PSPTris.
In the game use LEFT (or LEFT_TRIGGER), RIGHT (or RIGHT_TRIGGER) and DOWN for moving the bricks. UP will drop the current brick. CROSS will rotate the current brick.
START will pause the game.

DOES this work for version 2.6 without GTA? just say yes or no, THJX!!
i load up the game and it says it cant be played, data corrupted, can anyone tell me why?

It sucks, improve the reaction speed of the game and it might be better. For the moment a tetris rom is way better.
If you think it sucks then why don’t you try to make a better one? At least the dude tried.

@8 : Thanks. I don’t take comments like the one above too seriously. They’re usually from people, who are just sad about, that they can’t contribute with anything them self. Then it’s easy to pick on other people.
i have a save data on my mem card thats for gta lcs and when i start it up it has ammo counting up i have 2.7 and i dont need a cheat code to turn it on i want to know if this is some thing good that could lead to another cheat device if you want it i can give you it my IM is stickfights243 and my email is noobeater11@hotmail.com tell me please

@13 : Yes this will work as a plugin in PSPRadio, so that you can listen to radiostations and any other music stored on your PSP, while playing. Next release should support the PSPRadio plugin interface.

@16 : You should just copy both folders to your psp/game directory. That is at least for FW 1.5. I’m not sure about newer FW versions.
@17 : Yes it works in 1.5 FW (that’s what I’m using).
@18 : Yes it works on 2.6 FW.
@23 : Ryan, have you tried to delete it from your memstick and install it again ? It seems like something has gone wrong while unpacking or installing it. Could you please try again, and let me know.

You did a great job by making this tetris for the PSP.
I have a suggestion: If it’s possible for you to make the game so that you have to hold the PSP Vertical. So that the four buttons are at the bottom.
And also make button responce a little faster.
But all in all you did a great job making it.
Im not a developer but it really is easy to install and easy to play.
Keep up the good work

IT DOES NOT WORK ON 2.6
@26 : Yes, I will make an option for playing to rotated 90 degress. I’ve got a lot of requests for this. Also, I’ve already made the keyhandling more responsive, so this will be better in the next release.
@28 : Other people are using this on 2.6 FW, including Josh that posted the news here (it is also stated in the second line of the news).
i copy paste in my 2.6, but it says that Data is corrupted. what’s the prob huh?
Everyone that has firmware verison 2.60 and that is complaining about corrupt data, you shouldn’t even be looking there. You have to have the eloader and load up the Grand Theft Auto game and run it from there. Clicking on the icons under the saved data icons will result in you seeing, corrupt data. Only firmware version 1.5 and 1.0 can run homebrew without first loading GTA.
Id rather use a NES emulator and play the good Tetris.

If someone could have a version of tetris that could make use of the WiFi for multiplayer use that would be awesome. I remember hooking the two gameboys up and playing tetris, It was great. I would do it myself but I can code for my life.

@34 : I’d like to do this, but I only have 1 PSP, so I’d be hard for me to test if it works :) But I’ll put it on my to-do list for the game.

Which tetris is this based off of? Because I think the original one is supposedly on a 10 x 20 block field, and 10 x 18 on Gameboy because of the screen limitations. The screen shot of PSPTetris 0.5 has a large field?
Kewl thanx for hearing my suggestion. and for #38 just put it in your game file and use your eloader, but for 2.00+ you have to have GTA
@40 : It is not based on any specific Tetris version, other than the gameplay is the same. The playfield in this version is 14×16.

this works fine on all cfw just copy paste the both foldsers into pPSP/GAME150 for users more than 2.xxcfw
