2.7 firmware is out for for all you kiddies to update. LeifErikson a recent addition to the mods has sacrificed his precious psp to update to 2.7 and… Well sorry people, no homebrew. Sorry for the bad news… Let us all hope someone will come to our rescue and find a security crack for 2.7.

well shoot. I had a 1.5 psp and it was in my backpack and I threw my backpack and broke my psp. I just mailed my psp in last week… I’m sure its going to come with 2.7 instead of 2.6 now.

Ok, but the only good update on there is the flash player (unless your into AAC). Juat gonna wait till something happens, way to many things on 1.5 that prevent me from upgradeing to 2.7.
Anyone know what happens if you put a Jap 2.7 firmware onto a UK psp, or any other non jap model.

You can run any firmware version on any psp version.

i was wondering and i coul be wrong on this, but if you can now run game demo’s from the memory stick on a 2.7 firmware, surely it can’t be long till full downloaded games can be run on 2.7, then surely its just a small side step from full games to downloaded/hacked iso’s running on 2.7, ok you might need to convert them from iso’s to a different format… but should that not work?

I would agree with Matts comment with a potential exploit to be found in the download games part of the firmware 2.7… If the PSP is allowed to play downloaded content straight from the memory stick, there has to be a way to exploit it..

i honestly think people should be happy now. the release of macromedia flash has just opened a big gaping door for those who want games, all i see is a compromised with sony and homebrew people in my eyes.
#42 sorry to dissapoint but flash runs only at 6.0 on the PSP (Which is outdated), and two the homebrew is not functional on firmware version 2.7 so where is there a compromise Sony is still a bitch and will continue to be.

*sigh* I have no idea what Sony has against homebrew. Honestly, I’m not interested in pirating games, I just want to be able to play SNES sometimes, maybe play a little internet radio… Is that so much to ask? Honestly, I think Sony should be more open to allowing for non-UMD based development for the PSP. I’d pay $5 for a SNES emulator if I could run it on any Firmware version ’til the end of time. Same for an internet radio. Of course, Sony would probably be bastards and charge $30 for the thing… so, go homebrew!

Now watch flash movies and play flash games. Although there are reports of it running slow, and its an outdated version of flash, its still Mcromedia Flash so be thankful. oh and they have a flash homebrew thing for 1.5 so dont be retarded if you already have 1.5 :-)
A new file exstension for music, this basiclly means nothing unless your some unltra i love quality type of person or whatever the heck it is.
RSS added feature that lets you download the content under RSS. this feature though i might add is NOT WORTH THE UPDATE.

SNES I passed most of those games years ago they suck and why would i want to play them again? plus that’s not why i bought my psp. proper media player? I only store music on my psp and it works perfectly fine so i don’t really care about that. free umd’s? alot of them crash.I prefer just popping in the umd and playing the damn game not loading it from from some hack, I hate loading. loading can go fuck himself.
and the rest is just useless apps and more shitty boring homebrew games. I’m gonna be playing 2.7 games soon anyway
minime you can save flash files on it and play them through the browser but you gotta target your file on the address bar like: file:/psp/common/htf.swf which kinda sucks but it works. rename the flash file short so you don’t have to type the whole name in like i did there with happy three friends=htf

NOBODY WITH 1.5 UPDATE. THere’s bound to be somebody who would trade your 1.5 for their 2.01+.
i’m not too sure on this but sony can never disable homebrew. why? because if they do, the only way to update would be via UMD. homebrew, in essence, is an eboot that the PSP executes and so are the updates. So you see, even on 2.7, there is some kind of encryption that disables unsigned code because only Sony holds the key. but hey, correct me if i’m wrong.

i think people that updated their psp knew eloader didn’t work anymore and i think that why they did it anyway. cuz they didn’t give a fuck about it. let people enjoy their psp anyway they want stop being a bitch. the flash player works ok not good not great just ok. some flash files are too big for the psp’s cache and it’s gonna show you a “there is not enough memory” error which is really stupid. so only a few flash games/movies work fine. The web browser is alot faster though so that i guess is a good thing
oh yea and it has sound
so basically, you need a 2.70 PSP, then download the demo, connect your PSP to your computer, and put the demo into the PSP/GAME folder (just like every other homebrew game/app) and then play it ;)
If you have a 2.6 and are getting bored with shitty emulators, etc. then I suggest upgrading. If you have a 1.5 DON’T BE A DUMBASS, DON’T UPGRADE. FUCK YOU SONY!!
sony’s being a bitch. besides 2.5 and 2.6, every update has been a patch to disable homebrew with one or two new crappy features to make people want to upgrade. Who 2.5 and 2.6 might’ve been like that too and we just don’t know it.

yeah my myspace has some flash and it usually loads leving out the flash andn ow they come up but its realy slow or says theres not enough memory

I’m trying to recompile a couple of flash games to try and make them run faster. you guys have any good games that you can play? curve ball is good but it is so so its not funny, but changing the script so everything moves faster should solve that problem

PSPRadio playin on a 1.5 blasting out tunes through a Bose stereo is awesome and in my opinion a good enough reason to buy a PSP on its own.
