i was wondering and i coul be wrong on this, but if you can now run game demo’s from the memory stick on a 2.7 firmware, surely it can’t be long till full downloaded games can be run on 2.7, then surely its just a small side step from full games to downloaded/hacked iso’s running on 2.7, ok you might need to convert them from iso’s to a different format… but should that not work?

I would agree with Matts comment with a potential exploit to be found in the download games part of the firmware 2.7… If the PSP is allowed to play downloaded content straight from the memory stick, there has to be a way to exploit it..

minime you can save flash files on it and play them through the browser but you gotta target your file on the address bar like: file:/psp/common/htf.swf which kinda sucks but it works. rename the flash file short so you don’t have to type the whole name in like i did there with happy three friends=htf

NOBODY WITH 1.5 UPDATE. THere’s bound to be somebody who would trade your 1.5 for their 2.01+.

i’m not too sure on this but sony can never disable homebrew. why? because if they do, the only way to update would be via UMD. homebrew, in essence, is an eboot that the PSP executes and so are the updates. So you see, even on 2.7, there is some kind of encryption that disables unsigned code because only Sony holds the key. but hey, correct me if i’m wrong.

the flash player works ok not good not great just ok. some flash files are too big for the psp’s cache and it’s gonna show you a “there is not enough memory” error which is really stupid. so only a few flash games/movies work fine. The web browser is alot faster though so that i guess is a good thing

oh yea and it has sound

so basically, you need a 2.70 PSP, then download the demo, connect your PSP to your computer, and put the demo into the PSP/GAME folder (just like every other homebrew game/app) and then play it ;)

If you have a 2.6 and are getting bored with shitty emulators, etc. then I suggest upgrading. If you have a 1.5 DON’T BE A DUMBASS, DON’T UPGRADE. FUCK YOU SONY!!

I’m trying to recompile a couple of flash games to try and make them run faster. you guys have any good games that you can play? curve ball is good but it is so so its not funny, but changing the script so everything moves faster should solve that problem

Well, 1.5 is still the best firmware. Most games get dull after about a week, so you might as well load iso’s so you don’t have to deal with the 2 minute loading times. The main things keeping me @ firmware 1.5 are snes emu, pmp video streamer, kill everything that moves, and iso loaders :) *miktar wonders why everyone is sexually attracted to sony.

Ground rules: if you don’t like homebrew, feel free to update. If you have a 1.5, trade it with someone or sell it, they fetch about 50 bucks more than retail psp’s, and just buy a 2.01+ 1.0’s and 1.5’s are a rare thing, don’t ruin homebrewer’s fun.

The Flash Player works like a charm really great stuff…but the severely lacking memory cache on the PSP makes for a problem…you can’t play flash movies or games that exceed the 2000+ KB active memory threshhold of the PSP….WHEN will they have a firmware that allows the PSP to write some virtual memory to the memory stick..that would solve a lot of browser memory issues!!!

only a matter of time before they start making games that require this update. i only hope that runumd/genessis loader can run the umd’s.

Another problem I’ve noticed with the usage of flash on the PSP browser, is that NO FLASH GAMES recognize the PSP buttons as the command inputs…I really think Sony needs to get this right in the next firmware upgrade … 1.) make use of the memory stick for web browser virtual memory, and 2.) allow the PSP buttons to be temporarily mapped as keyboard keys for flash game interaction.

My friend recently said that it would be cool to be able to hook up a PSP to a TV to play the games on a TV. What do you, my fellow PSPers, think about that idea? NOTE: turning of the cache does NOTHING for the “not enough memory” error when loading flash files above 2000+ KB.

The PSP has a limited amount of memory, and until it can write virtual memory to the memory card (and have keyboard letters assigned to the buttons) we won’t be able to take full advantage of the flash player.

hey guys i tried out the loco roco demo available with the update and only one thing is to be said: Learn Japanese. THe US version of Loco Roco isnt out i think all i could find was the JP version but its still good tho expect to want to practice out the controls they… arent the best
