WiFiSniffer v0.2 Released

Over at Jylam’s Corner resides a new version of the access point (WiFi) sniffer. Unfortunately due to technical reasons [no promiscuous mode], WEP cracking is not available. Nonetheless this tool is quite cool. WiFI Sniffer v0.2 allows you to discover WEP encrypted and open wireless networks, displaying their status, speed, MAC address, and other various tidbits of information.
For obvious reasons, this homebrew application only runs on firmware version 1.50!
Usage:
Just copy WifiSniffer and WiFiSniffer% directories to your psp/game/ directory on MemoryStick. Then run it through PSP menu.
Keys:
- Left and Right (Or Left/Right triggers) to change menu.
- [SELECT] to take a screenshot (on psp/ directory on the MS)
A file named wifisniff.txt, located in the PSP/ directory, will be created displaying all discovered networks.

There is a wifi sniffer with wep cracking on the nintendo DS. Will it every be able to to it with the psp hardware?
yeah, bu the major flaw of the ds is that you have to have the gba flash card, which can get really messy after a while. You also must becareful about sniffing wifi. If some smarty knows you’re stealing their wifi then they might sue you. A story came aup a while ago about how this guy was stealing wifi and he didn’t know it (well duh, if he’s on a ibook with airport and your network doesn’t have wep than of course he’s gonna be stealing without knowing) Cool app though, great for checking which restaurant has wifi so you can browse and stuff while out.
Dude, you can’t “steal” wifi if its unsecured. “Open” networks are just that: Public. Now if you use a WEP or WPA cracker, sure. But an open unsecured network is like broadcast TV, you can’t prosecute people for using it. Leaving your network unsecured is like putting your internet connection out at the curb, in with the trash: It becomes public domain and sifting through it is NOT illegal in any way.
i take it that u eat alot out alone alot.. chicks aren’t 2 cool about surfing the net over a dinner date!

Dint work for me using eloader 0.95 patched .All it does is dark screen and turn my psp off

For the people asking if it works with eLoader… Wow… just… wow…
i tried it with 0.9 eboot loader.i thinked it works!
but after 2 seconds i saw an infinite loop.
i run it with 0.9 eboot loader but i saw an error message:error attaching device (80410d0d) error initing wlan.
can anybody help me?????

guys this tools run under 1.50 FW ONLY. YOU DON”T NEED ANY LOADER TO RUN THE TOOLS. I DON”T SEE ANY POINT OF THIS TOOLS!!! BECAUSE YOU CAN DO THE SAME THING BY SCAN THE NETWORK FROM YOUR PSP…

Hey last wifi sniffer people were saying that it bricked their psp , this one won’t right? I need an answer.
I wouldn’t ever use this program, I would go crazy and use it all the time, finding all those wi-fi hotspots.
i was jus woundering if anyone knows or think is it possible to get ff7 original, Quake III Arena, or unreal tournament, on the psp? Just imagine the possibility to have these games on psp anywhere anytime and to have multiplayer that would be cool anyone share this thought??
@22 lol, cause the psp is that “good” You people need to realise teh psp runs a 33mhz CPU at MAX, those games wont run, thats why the N64 Emulator is the dumbest idea ive heard for the psp so far. GBA emulator barely runs for christ sake.

the 9.0wifi loader, loades the wifi connection before the eboot loader.
so you cant change the conection

this is one nice program. can anyone edit the source to add wep hacking. Like it put a random code it tries to send a packet. If it can;t it repeats the program. Then post a link. you can get the source so that should make it a bit easier.

WEP encryption is difficult and can be very time consuming to crack. You need to collect millions of IV packets from an encrypted wireless network before you can uncover a key to be used for password recovery. Depending on traffic on the target network, you may never be able to collect enough packets unless you hang around for weeks or months. Plus it is a felony.

For one, the PSP runs at 333Mhz not 33Mhz ‘:|
WEP Decryption is fickle - it can take minutes if the conditions are right. More or less, you send a truck load of packets to the router and leave your psp sitting right next to the antenna.
PSP’s are also capable of PSX emulation natively, as of 3.03.

air snort and aircrack(for linux) are the best ,but they only work with certain wireless cards ,the card has to be able to passivly detect the networks.
