answer to 5, there will never be a loader that will load the umd, because with this one u have to use the decrypted prx files, and gta umd has encrypted prx’s

For the ISO modifying bit, in the UMDGEN part, it says
“Then, place PRX2_0_0 folder (in PSP_GAME\USRDIR folder) has the root of your memory stick.

Execute then DecryptPRX, it will create in PRX2_0_0 folder somes files with dcr extensions, remove all the prx files and replace with the dcr files created (remove the .dcr extension) (to replace the crypted prx by the deciphered prx).”

I could not seem to get the files I need from the updater EBOOT.PBP. I used unpack-pbp to get “UNKNOWN.PSAR,” and I used psardump 0.2 to decompile it or whatever. But It puts it in out and outx. I’m not sure how to get the flash0 and flash1 folders. Can anyone help me on this one?

is there a way to decrease the file size? are there dummy files in the iso like other games?

no, i didn’t download the game, i bought gta the same day i got my psp. I had 2.0 on it for a while to play gta, but was more intrigued by 1.5 and homebrew. i’ve been there ever since and i’m not leaving.

to bad that u can’t shut the psp down, then turn it on and resume the game..u come in the psp menu, hope they will (can?) fix this, that is very handy

#23, you rename the out folder and use fileassistant to get the other flash folder.
there are tutorials for it, i can’t remember exactly what goes on.

Is anyone still having it quit after 10 minutes? I only copied the new MPH app onto my psp, I didn’t use the new Decrypt PRX. Do I have to redecrypt and rebuild the ISO again to remove the 10 minutes?

Has anyone tested this for longer than 10 minutes? Because I went and rebuilt the ISO and it still quits out. The file on MPH’s website hasn’t been updated since 02/22 so it looks like it’s still the demo version. Is there actually a full version released?

I cant get it to work. I’ve modified the iso as it says in the readme, but what to do with the “Firmware 2.00 installation” installation part, i really dont get that. And then what you cant start umd emulator, launch gta iso and then launche the gameloader. So please tell me what i have to do?

I got everything up to the launch 2.00 firmware thing by puting flash 0 and flash 1 in a folder. Where do I get a 2.00 firmware dump from?

I would just wait a little bit longer there are probably people coming out with rip kits or shrunk ISO’s soon because now they can test it out and everything.

Hmm, so i extracted the ISO from my copy of GTA, but now i dont know what to do with all the programs. I downloaded every program i needed, i have UMD emulator installed on my PSP, but i dont know how to use the other programs to make GTA work on 1.50. And also, the ISO is 1.4GB, and i only have 956MB of memory, is there i way i can shirnk it?

I’m sorry to keep making an issue out of this, but my game keeps quitting out at around 10 minutes. I’ve looked at both the .zip files, the demo one, and the full one on psp-hacks. They’re both the same size. The “Modified” columns on both are both exactly the same and were done on the 22nd. I see one person here (#87) saying his is working but I’m looking for more proof. Maybe everyone with it running stopped checking the comments. So, ANYONE WHO STILL HAS IT QUITTING AFTER 10 MINUTES WITH THE FULL VERSION, could you please say so. Thanks.

Well, I just got around the 10 minutes thing using that patch that came out before the full release and it works fine now. If anyone’s gotten the full working I’d still be interested….just not AS interested any more. Off to play more GTA!

Hahaha this is amazing! The only few problems i’ve had so far playing GTA, is that it freezes up when set on Multiplayer, and i cant put it on sleep mode without rebooting it.

do I need a US ISO of GTA:LCS to play on a US PSP or can I play the Europe ISO on a US PSP as well? cause the guide in filefront said that i need a US PSP to play the US version of GTA:LCS. oh and is there an ISO of GTA in the size of 160MB cause i saw one.

it’s great, works just fine but there are some fixes to be made (i) can’t put my psp in sleepmode or turn it off properly, the system will crash.(after a min. the power light goes out)
can’t play snes games anymore the system will crash if i try that and fastloader 0.7 doesn’t work anymore either.

I bought GTA and was really disappointed that I couldnt play it on my 1.5 with its homebrew stuff. Like PSPradio and the Wifisniffer.

So I would just like to thank you guys for an excellent job, and I hope you are very happy in the knowledge that you have made a lot of people smile.

To #141: I made that guide and i put in in because i have a European PSP, i tried to launch a USA GTA iso on it and it freezed at the loading screen, then i got a european GTA iso and it worked perfectly.

To #156: That’s a problem with your iso try to make it again or download another version. If you have a european psp and a usa iso you should probably have to get a european iso, of course the same if you have a usa psp with a european iso.

If I’m not mistaken, PSP games are region free, its just UMD films which have region encoding, so it shouldn’t make any difference from which country the game originates.

To #174: you can make those folders yourself with MPH Firmware launcher 4.0. Put the eboot.pbp 2.0 update on the root of your mem stick and run firmware launcher 4. Then go to install a firmware And select the eboot.pbp and select install. Then you have flash0 and flash 1 on your mem stick root, place them in MPHGAMELOADER folder.

Firstly, no you cannot use this with 2.01, its 1.5 only.

Here’s how I did it in plain text. Find a disc or ISO with the 2.0 update on it, and extract the EBOOT.PBP. Then download ‘Fake updater’ which is essentially a mod of PSARdumper. It will dump the firmware to ms://F0 and ms://F1 when you follow the instructions. then download the GTA 1.5 game loader and put it on your memory stick in PSP/Game folder in the normal way, along with the MPHGameLoader folder in the root. Move the F0 and F1 folders just created to the MPHGameLoader folder and rename them to flash0 and flash1 respectively. The loader should then work properly, assuming the PRX files in the ISO have been decrypted as per the DecryptPRX program.
