Dave Gnukem

Posted by m1ndle5s

Deniska from DCemu forums has realeased a port of DG (Dave Gnukem).

Here’s a screen…

DG for the PSP

Here’s what Deniska has to say:

Dave Gnukem PSP

About Dave GNUkem
Dave Gnukem is a 2D scrolling platform shoot-em-up. It is very similar to (and inspired by) Duke Nukem 1.

Credits
David Joffe - Coding, sprites, levels.
Felix Richter - Documentation contributions.
Steve Merrifield - Level contribution.
Denis Televnyy - PSP Port.

PSP version features:

1) improved sound fx handling
2) music soundtrack support. I dropped an ogg file from NOIZ2SA as an example; any ogg/s3m/xm/mod file
can be used, just name it stage.[ogg/xm/s3m/mod] and drop it in the sounds directory.
3) snaphot mode
4) c/c++ source code with makefile profided for those who want to study/improve the game.
5) the game is very much modable: you can create new levels with the windows version editor and edit the
game’s graphics.

INSTALLATION
——–

1.5 users: copy contents of 1.5 folder to ms:/PSP/GAME
1.0 use EBOOT.PBP from 1.0 folder with data files from 1.5 folder

OpenTTD Now Playable

Posted by m1ndle5s

OpenTTD, what the …..? Yeah, I’m not going to explain what it is. So I’m going to let Turulo from the DCemu forums do the job. Also, when you unzip the file, you’ll notice that one folder is named 1.52, ignore the name it is suppose to be 1.50.

Hi,

I have started a port of OpenTTD game based on the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Now the port is playable but save/load doesnt work by the moment.

More info about the game and full feature list:
http://www.openttd.org/about.php

I include the readme that contains all the information about port status, etc ..

Quote:

OpenTTD is a clone of the Microprose game “Transport Tycoon Deluxe”, a popular game originally written by Chris Sawyer. It attempts to mimic the original game as closely as possible while extending it with new features.

OpenTTD is originaly developed by the openttd team http://www.openttd.org and has been ported to the PSP by Jaime Penalba. This code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.0. For more information, see the file ‘COPYING’ included with every release and source download of the game.

INSTALLATION
============

To run OpenTTD it is *required* that you install certain files needed from the
original retail Transport Tycoon Deluxe, whether for DOS or Windows.

1.- Copy the “ottd/” directory into your psp at “/PSP/GAME/” (game data)

2.- Depending on your psp version (game executable)
* 1.0 & 2.0 (2.0 not tested), Copy the “1.00/ottd/” dir to “/PSP/GAME/”
* 1.52, Copy the “1.52/ottd/” & “1.52/ottd%/” dirs to “/PSP/GAME/”

3.- Now you must install some data files from the retail Transport Tycoon Deluxe
you will find the game easily on some abandonware sites or p2p networks. To
install them you must copy the following files to “/PSP/GAME/ottd/data/”
* Required files: TRG1R.GRF, TRGCR.GRF, TRGHR.GRF, TRGIR.GRF, TRGTR.GRF, SA
MPLE.CAT

CONTROLS
========

- Digital pad: 1px movement
- Analog stick: 2px movement
- Cross: mouse left click
- Circle: mouse right click, hold it and press pad to move arround the map.
- Square: hold it and press pad or analog, to move a window.
- Triangle: Closes the window under mouse cursor (BE CAREFULL, you will see)

GTA Cheat Device v0.8

Posted by m1ndle5s

Yes you read the title correctly. Now take a second to calm down… Done? Okay, Edison has released v0.8 of his famous GTA Cheat Device.

Enjoy this little preview…

GTA Rocket Bike

Here’s what he has to say:

Unzip the archive to your memory card so the files go in PSP/SAVEDATA/ULUS10041S0 if you’re installing the US version, PSP/SAVEDATA/ULES00151S0 for the UK version. This replaces the first save on the card.

To start CheatDevice, simply load it like a saved game. You can then load another save if you want and CheatDevice stays in memory.

Disclaimer: THIS CAN CRASH YOUR GAME. USE AT YOUR OWN RISK. USE 333MHZ AT YOUR OWN RISK! Don’t save your game after using this.

v0.8 release notes:

Rocket Boost gives you forward thrust whether you’re on the ground or in the air or upside down. Settings 1 or 2 are good for fast driving on the ground. Rocket Boost 10 is good for making bikes fly.

I added the ability to turn your motorcycle in the air while using Rocket Boost.

Here you go! US/UK

rRootage v1.5

Posted by m1ndle5s

Dont’ worry I have not forgotten about 1.0-2.0 users. rRootage has been out quite awhile and if you just happened to over look it, shame on you! Mrbrown from the PspDev forums has released this homebrew back in December.

rRootage for the PSP

Mrbrown:

I N F O

This is a port of Kenta Cho’s addictive PC shooter, rRootage (http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~cs8k-cyu/windows/rr_e.html).

I N S T A L L

1.0 & 2.0 users: Copy the 1.5/rRootage directory to /PSP/GAME/. Copy
1.0/EBOOT.PBP to /PSP/GAME/rRootage/.
1.5 users: Copy the 1.5/rRootage and 1.5/rRootage% directories to /PSP/GAME.

P L A Y

Press Start to begin a new game. Use the analog or directional pad to steer
the ship, use X (or Triangle) to fire, and use O (or Square) to activate your
Special.

See readme_e.txt for additional information on gameplay.

Press Start or Home to pause the game.

Press Select to toggle music playback.

Press L + R to take a screenshot. Screenshots are stored at the root of the
memory stick.

Select Q (the bottommost menu item) and press Start to exit to the PSP browser.

C H A N G E S

2005 12/14 v1.5

- Call _init() in libSDL_main’s main() if it wasn’t already called and make
sure that the startup constructor doesn’t access kernel mode on 2.0 PSPs.
- rRootage now works on 2.0 PSPs under Fanjita’s EBOOT loader.

My two cents: I love this game! It’s so addictive. So many levels and 4 different difficulty settings!

You can play this for hours once you get it here.

Caelestis

Posted by m1ndle5s

I was checking out this article on DCemu and I for one can’t wait to play this…

Caelestis

Here’s what TurkeyMan, the creator, has to say;

I just wanted to let the home brew community know about a game i’ve been working on for the past little while.
We call it Caelestis, and its coming together slowly but surely.
Its not yet at a stage where i’m happy to release a binary or source openly, but i’ll show some screenshots for the moment just to let people know the project exists.

For the record, I’m desperately searching for more talented artists to help make this game look and feel very professional. What you see is average coder art which i’d like to replace with real artists work at some point
