yeah i saw this on pspupdates, but their download website is SO fucked, so i came here. this is pretty cool, for a first release, i mean, i can’t even switch remote files within one brand! that kinda sux. and yeah, the only other IR remote was for ps2/sony wega tv’s. it sucked, unless you wanna fuck with your ps2 playing friends.

I cant install it on my psp, I put the RAR folder at the root of my MS and then I extract. this takes about 6 minutes then it cost me about 70 mb, and when i go to the game folder i can’t see an icon, because the folders aren’t at the right place. Please help I’m noob in this. Thanks(i have 1.50 fw)

poeple are stupid there complaining how they have 2.0. reallyu kids how long has the downgrader been out for like about a 5 months now come on. the only reason u should upgrade to 2.0 is to play socom online becuase flashmod 2.0 doesnt work with it once ur done with that just downgrade with mph downgrader derr. so 2.0+ loser quite ur bitching

2. Place the 2 “UR…-” files from the extracted .rar, into the games folder under the the psp folder on your psp
3. Place the “remotes” folder from the rar onto the root directory of your psp.

Done!!

There might be some more shifting of the config files in the “remotes” folder, so ill post here if anything new comes up for me.

OK , guys , pay attention , i figured it out .. YOU NEED THE REMOTE FOLDER in the Main root WITH A remote file in it , the program says goodbye due to the fact it tries to find a remote list and doesn’t find anything .. so here it is for example

MAIN/PSP/GAMES/ “the 2 UR UR% folders

MAIN/remotes/folder of remote you have/remote .txt file

Notice thats when ppl brag about upgrading to 2.0 and that they have a brouser. They always have to add “ohh yeah I am posting this from my PSP” Lol I guess it makes them feel better about the fact it took them forever to get it typed out on thier psp.
who cares bout a brouser. Its not like 1.5 doesn’t have a brouser anyway.

On my U-Remote Xbox has the same input code as a GE and RCA DVD PLAYERs

I haven’t tryed it yet but I would say it would work with a GE or RCA code.

I will try tomarow and see.

By the way this ONLY works for 1.5 not 2.+ so quit asking why it doesn’t work dumbass upgraders

step 1 , PSP MUST be 1.50

Step 2 , copy the IR and IR% into the Game folder of your psp

Step 3 , make a folder named remote on the mem card , not in any other folder , just the main end : NOTE do not use caps on the “remote” folder.

Step 4 , in the remote folder make another folder named from the model you are gonna use such as sony or zenith

Step 5 , copy over the .txt file into that folder that you are going to use

Step 6 if that file doesn’t work try the next file until the file that belongs to it works – KNOW ING THE MODEL NUMBER OF THE ORIGINAL REMOTE HELPS!

It’s pretty cool, I expected it to be pretty hard to get it to work, but it was fine. I even got my dvd to work with the psp while my actual universal remote could! :) Kinda annoying that the remotes take up some much space and I’m too lazy to look through them all. It’s really cool, and Massa did a great job at what Sony couldn’t have done, utilize the ir technology for continuous use and multipurpose. Great Homebrew! (Question though, was this a mod of DJPSP? The menues and controls acted similar. Not that it’s bad or anything, I just think it’s a good theme. Unlike the stupid Halo mod, Totaly knew it was psprevol when I put it in. Even played a few songs, glad that it has “dissappeared from existence”)

I have tried this on my toshiba TV, but so far the only functions that work are the volume buttons. Has anyone gotten this working with Toshiba? I noticed that there is only one txt file in the Toshiba folder.

PSP Universal Remote is a universal remote controller program, with which you can use on your PSP, to turn it into a universal remote controller for lots of IR controlled devices. In this new version, massa84 has fixed some bugs and added a little new functions to the program:

Solved bugs:

- automatic open of certain files in some folders
- opening of the file philips RC-5 that crashed the psp
- minor fixes

New features:

- Nothing except that if you use very often a remote you can copy the txt file and put it in the folder WITHOUT the % named controller.txt so it will be opened at the startup

This things sweeet and harder to lose then the real remote control!! =D

verry cool program, unfortunatly the map “remotes” require a lot of space (can’t fit on a 32mb) does the program work if I put only the the company names in that dir. of the tv I have. so only remote\philips for my philips tv. or does the full directery contains other needed stuff? the licht of my tv blimps, but I can’t control it. is there a funtion (like with pocket pc) to transmit date to gsm?

*101 yeah if you only copy the remotes to the tv’s you need the remotes for you’ll be fine. Plus you can add more remotes as they come out w/ the files for them.

This things great it works on VCRs/DVD players too I kept making the tv shut off and on and hitting eject and ppl think the shits haunted LOL

I have the same problem, I have downgraded too, and i have it all setup right, but for some reason even though i choose the exact remote config it wont work. Is this something to do with the frequency?? Can it be changed. I just don’t get it, it wont work!!! I’m a user in the UK, which i doubt makes a difference.

1.2 of this remote thing is @ psp-ita.com couple of bugs squished and a few additions that I haven’t quite figured out yet.

Hmmm. On the back of my panasonic tvs remote control it say EUR511211 so naturally i load the EUR511211.txt in this program. But i can’t get it to work. It’s sending ir signals coz i see it blinking and shit, but nothing happens. Btw i tried all 3 frequency settings but that didn’t help either.. Program sucks :)

y is it that is works on some 1.5 psps but not the rest… and on sum of them u have to press the button like 10 times before nething happens

if you have problems try getting close to your ’s ir window and press ‘X’ on the command you want to try and hold it and ‘O’ or ‘R-trigger’ for a few seconds. It’ll keep cycling through the frequencies and you’ll know in about 3 seconds if it works or not.
2.0? learn how to read. it says 1.5 so NO IT WILL NEVER WORK ABOVE 1.5 unless someone gains kernel access and makes the info public.

you all obviously have internet access. Punch your model number into google and find out the part number for the remote. All the .txt files are Remote part numbers, NOT TV/DVD/whatever part numbers!

hey, iv got v1.2, nasthy is right, get this version, once i got this, everything i tried it on it worked, no need to press buttons agen and agen and no need to go right up to u tv LOL which is quite pointless aint it.

but on v1.2 how do u save profiles, iv got hang of setting up buttons for specific comands (volume etc) but i dont kno how to save and have different profiles for different remotes. help anybody?

you want to know which one to use, you can look on your actual remote! its on it that you see the infamous codes like RM-342a…

#152 just set up your buttons then press select and pick where you wanna save your profile to 1-6…then just simply press the triangle button and it’ll save it to what ever number you where on….yea i hate it when apps comes out and theres no fuckin directions

this thing is kinda fucked up. i have a goldstar DVD and an old NEC TV. i was trying to get the code for my TV when i went to remote code NEC/RB-DV22.txt (thinking it is my tv’s code) but instead it controlled my DVD. Now nothing on NEC remote codes work for my TV! LOL. anyone wanna give me the code for my SEARS and NEC TV?

hey, i used time machine to change my CFW to 1.5, on my PSP slim. it loads alright, but the screen is messed up. anything you guys noe that would make it work? any help appreciated =)
