To all that want to know about ISO Loading..Yes it is possible, but it will require a mapping between syscalls and syscall entry points. And since there are hundreds of syscalls, it won’t be available too soon unless kernel access is discovered. And the only way i can see kernel mode access possible is through a buffer overflow inside a syscall…or someone finds the encryption key hard coded in the firmware (which btw, is in kernel memory and cannot be accessed anyway without kernel mode in the first place)…

The capability of an ISO loader would complete these packages of already amazing programming.
Understandably, and ISO could potentially be used for prirate purposes, which I personally do not agree with, but it can also prove useful to those of us with honor.
For instence, I still use the ancient, but still good Fastloader. On my 1GB card I have Metal Gear Acid, Dynasty Warriors and Burnout Legends, all game which I bought and own but do not want to cart around with me wherever I go.
Pirate are either too cheap or too poor to purchase these games. I earn good money as a writer and can buy ALL the PSP game out right now… twice. But I got the PSP for its portability and do not wish to lug around 20+ umds.
With an ISO loading solution, I could enjoy the games I paid for in a manner which I see fit.
In any case, my hats’ off to Fanjita and Ditlew for apparently brilliant work.
If an ISO loader comes, I will be happy, if it does not, I am happy anyway – only losers complain in the face of progress.

Just asking, i choose the homebrew i want to run, my psp turns off, what do i do now, Im only new at the homebrew concept.

I agree that this is a positive step for the PSP community, however I still see one of two things happening in the future. First, I see Sony losing all their developer support for the PSP as they continue to force them to program games using new codecs to accomodate firmware updates as their #1 source of anti-piracy. Then the PSP is finished.The other possibilty is that the programmers on the homebrew scene, like Fanjita, will give up trying to crack every new firmware update Sony releases. Then Sony wins as they will have cut off the spread of piracy on their console. Either way, I think Sony has gone too far to back off now, so I think now is the time for everyone to decide whether they want homebrew or to play new PSP games (or buy 2 PSPs).

Umm so if you want to play any newer games like street fighter you have to buy gta.. well if thats so than thats gay.. the whole point of homebrew games is that you dont have to buy origional iso’s..!!

Im wondering if i installed the loader properly. I got no success with just unzipping it into the mp_root folder. Instead, I unzipped the Loader and Icon into the Game Folder…and the Saved File into the Savedata folder. Everything works fine until I get past the little YES or NO agreement. I downloaded the SNES Emulator from Fanitas link as well as MAME (both are in their respective folders in the PSP Games foler)…they both show up in the Loader…I downloaded a SNES ROM and placed it in its own folder inside the SNES folder…but when i load it up…it reads an error. Any ideas about what the problem might be? Did I install the files wrong or could it be a faulty ROM…someone help. I looked in the formus and found nothing yet.

Oh year and what ever you do do not upgrade to the new firmware (3.0) when it comes out no matter how good it is, since they will prevent the save exploit in GTA.

Got infromation and I cannot tell from who ( a friend ) but what one of you said is true , Sony is making a new firmware to block the GTA exploit so maybe it means that they know that this exploit has potential too for piracy , my friend doesn’t know if it will be 2.70 or 3.0 or whatever it will be but he says that it will come before may and even before april , at the same time realising new PSP’s with that new version and in a new value pack ( including new extras ). My friend got this infromation from somebody working on sony of America and he seems to be telling the truth. And it will supposedly have an uncrackable code , not an almost impossible code to crack but impossible to crack with new technology. Whatever they offer when the time comes don’t upgrade , who knows if fater time PSP’s with 2.6 or lower will raise in value.

My friend will give me more information when he’s other friend gives him more information , I told him to make an account at psphack but he says that he prefers downloading emulators at limewire and he fears that he will start receiving e-mails at subscribing. But he’ll give me more information probaly soon if there is more valuable information that his father’s friend provides.

Alright, it’s really simple to install, and correct me if I’m wrong.

1st – Unzip (Using WinZip or WinRAR) ALL of the files to the top most directory of your PSP. (IE. E:\ or X:\) If it says something like X:\PSP then you’re unzipping it to the wrong folder. Also, copy your choice of supported homebrew applications to the X:\PSP\GAMES\ folder (Where is the name of the homebrew.)

2nd – Start up GTA:LCS either without the memory stick in or MOVE another GTA save game to your desktop and then MOVE it back to the PSP. If you skip this step, the PSP will load up the eLoader when it autoloads and it will most likely crash.

3rd – Once the game starts, press START and goto GAME. Select LOAD GAME and choose the eLoader (it has a blue pic w\ 2 PSPs on it and says eLoader GTA BETA).

4th – Once the eLoader starts select the game with the UP and DOWN D-PAD buttons and press X to start the game. Some say that your PSP will restart and that this is normal for the first time. If this happens, just go back to step 2. If this happens continuously, try a different game or check to make sure the eLoader is copied right.

5th – Be greatful for Fanjita’s hard work for this EBOOT Loader. I know it was not easy at all being a programmer myself. Also, keep in mind this is the BETA version. A public test version. There are still a few bugs to be worked out and much room for improvement (I’d really like to see Quake 2 playable on 2.6 =D).

If I missed anything or made a mistake, rather than flaming, please correct me. Thank you.

If all you NOOBS get a black screen and a three blick light turn it off, turn it back on and when its says sony pop out the umd it will spin and stop then restart it again and let it set cause the homebrews no 2.6 dont work until you have a “Fresh” start. SNES ROMS are saved as .SMC’s right???? I get a error reading the memory stick upon loading the loader. I get the feeling that were getting different results with 2.50 and 2.60 as well as wether its US, Europe etc.

155, i tryed that about 100X still dosent work, i used a 32mb chip just for this and keep my 1GB chip just for music and videos, but i still dont see homebrew and emulators working yet, ill wait for it to come out of beta.

psp load the eloader select a app and screen black freeze goes off and hmmm thats it so not 100% hacked for my 2.50 couse it doesent work maby on some 2.50 but not mine but nice try but its beta so i just wait until a full working one is out without need gta just eloader like the 2.0 version :) want snes and neocd (mario 3 , Metalslug ) on my psp :D

ok you guys who are stuck here is what to do:
1)copy your psp file on your memory stick to your desktop (as all your files will be deleted)
2) then get the psp file from the eboot loader and copy it to the root of the memory stick (the first screen (it will say do you want to replace your psp file, click yes)
3) once this is done just copy any homebrew that is compatible to your psp game file.

does any1 know how to install a sega megadrive emulator to the psp?

lucas – yea I had that problem all day yesterday, and then it would work once but the game wouldn’t load. So I eraced everything and re-downloaded all the stuff. then I formatted my memory stick and followed the instructions, but instead of putting the rom in the ROM file that I created I put it in the save file and I was able to get it.

omg it was just wrking it now its fuked again wth it was good all night and day i dont get this well ill wait for the non-beta version w/e

The thing i’m am thryingt o say is that the psp heats up and it crash’s, so after every thing you do you have to restart it and do the hole dam thing over again and the times it did not work i just played GTA for a lil bit for like 30 seconds to get it used to beinging used and every thing works great…Just keep trying and its just a BETA so when the really good one comes out it would be sweet

WOW!!! I FInally got it to work!! Apparently the mistake I made originally was downloading the wrong SNES emulator…for those who wish to know…you want the uo_Snes9x emulator and it MIGHT take a few tries (mine worked on the second)My question is this: Can anyone explain to me how I can mess with the CPU speed? Final Fight SNES runs shit slow and i have to get it working better. Anyone kind enough to help out?
