OpenTTD Now Playable
m1ndle5s | January 26, 2006
OpenTTD, what the …..? Yeah, I’m not going to explain what it is. So I’m going to let Turulo from the DCemu forums do the job. Also, when you unzip the file, you’ll notice that one folder is named 1.52, ignore the name it is suppose to be 1.50.
Hi,
I have started a port of OpenTTD game based on the original Transport Tycoon Deluxe. Now the port is playable but save/load doesnt work by the moment.
More info about the game and full feature list:
http://www.openttd.org/about.phpI include the readme that contains all the information about port status, etc ..
Quote:
OpenTTD is a clone of the Microprose game “Transport Tycoon Deluxe”, a popular game originally written by Chris Sawyer. It attempts to mimic the original game as closely as possible while extending it with new features.
OpenTTD is originaly developed by the openttd team http://www.openttd.org and has been ported to the PSP by Jaime Penalba. This code is licensed under the GNU General Public License version 2.0. For more information, see the file ‘COPYING’ included with every release and source download of the game.

First comment >.>
Great news :D. I luv TT, it’s so addictive.
what is it exatly?
Transport tycoon is game by the same creator of rollercoaster tycoon (Chris Sawyer or something). In TT you are a manager of a transport company and you have to set up a whole infrastructure for your company, like building trainrails and roads. You’re goal is to make as much money as possible and to make big rail- and roadnetworks where your vehicles can transport things from for example a farm to a goodsfactory.
Allthough the game was made in 1993 it looks superb and it’s just sooo much fun :D.
(btw, srry for my spelling and grammar, but hey, im Dutch :P)
If he can port this why doesnt he just port Rollercoaster tycoon its 20X better
and uses the same engien
cuz he ported this game using the opensource version of transport tycoon. You can probably guess that a opensource application is much easier to port then a closed source app like rollercoaster (not sure btw, maybe there’s a opensource version).
And btw, the game rollercoaster will stress your psp alot more then transport tycoon, so i don’t know if it’s even possible.
But to comment on ur reply: transport tycoon owns rollercoaster imo. Have u even played TT before?
Thanx!! great work.
hope to see RCT soon:)
Cant it be in english?
spanish? how could i change the language lol?
In options maybe? I dunno. I used my own OTTD dir (still had it on my pc). It doesnt work on 2.0, so I haven’t gotten it to work on my psp yet, but anyway. When I copyed my ottd dir I saw a bunch of files named, dutch.lng, spanish.lng, english.lng and so on.
Just checked the ottd root and there’s a map called “Lang”. That’s where those files are in. Maybe in this download file the only language that was included was spanish.lng?
If u guys want, i can upload the english.lng file (or e-mail it, cuz I dont have any webspace).
I fixed it by changing the name of english.lng to brazillian-portuguese.lng. Now I have Enlish language :). Strange bug though..
wish i had a 1.5 or 1.0 :(….lol i wish this came out for 2.6
flappie thanks for the lang tip, works.
when im doing “new game” or something it always says “load error” or something..when im creating level it works..
which program do you use to start the game???
14:
program ?
like a regular homebrew.
read the “readme.txt” to see how the installation goin on..
how to fix the “game load failed” thing ?
thanks..
The program was loader085
It write :Can’t run kernel mode applications
I have 2.0 psp
2.- Depending on your psp version (game executable)
* 1.0 & 2.0 (2.0 not tested)
I was tested but it doesn’t start with loader085!!
i have 1.5 and copied the 1.52 thing…it still doesnt work.. :\
Did u get the missing files that you need? You can get them from here:
http://download.transporttycoon.net/files/ttd-graphics.rar
Man, this stinks. I really wish it worked on 2.0. I got the files and everything. My fanjita 9 loader says 001000 means kernel and that usaully lets the app run untill something kernel is needed. ( as in metroid plantets I can run with the kernel string error showing, but freezes when I do somthing too much. ) My openttd keeps on freezeing on please wait… I just going to downgrade. Great jo on the game. Maybe you can contact Chris Sawyer due to the fact the rollercoaster tycoon went to the people at frontier. He’d be willing to give you guys the code for a psp homebrew, heck maybe even a comercial homebrew like that media center thing.
Okay, downgraded and it’s great!
Having problems here. It fails to save and load games…
i downloaded everything i have 1.5 and its just stuck on starting open ttd please wait what did i do wrong?
Omfg @ dave. Read plz…. it’s clearly stated in the newspost that save/load is on the to-fix list…
oh,wasn’t wearing my glasses… screw it, I’ll just put it on sleep mode…
Anyone got any idea how long the fix’ll take / how to create a fix?
please please please this is 1 of my favorite ever games please tryand find a way for v2.60 to play it i know its alot to ask but please im begging you.
Yow cool man, I sure wish it’s gonna work on 2.0!
Maybe even RCT that would be awesome!!!
omfg i want rct now!!!!!!11
ARGH THIS IS SOOOO ANOYING!!!
When i bought my psp it came with firmware 2.5 and i wnt 1.5 or 2.0 :( i wnt to play games. . . y cnt they bring out all these games for 2.6 and stuff or is it when you update, security gets higher of sum sort. . . some1 help out out here plzzzz
Sorry, guys, but RCT isn’t coming anytime soon. There isn’t an open-source version of it because it’s copyright Atari, and it is certainly _not_ abandonware. It would be virtually impossible to port the win32 RCT bytecodes(exe files) over to the PSP. To all the noobs who are like, “ARGH HELP I”M STUPID”, your problem can be solved by searching around on pspupdates.com. Full homebrew functionality should come soon to 2.50 and 2.60.
