PSP Rhythm 3.0
greg | January 24, 2006
The PSP Rhythm Team has just released v3.0 of their popular homebrew drum machine!

For use on the Sony PSP with Firmware ver. 1.0, 1.5 or 2.0
PSP Rhythm is a homebrew drum machine for the Sony Playstation Portable.
Inspired by classic drum machines such as the Linndrum and Roland TR-series, PSP Rhythm has been created to use the simple, yet effective 16 step style drum sequencer. PSP Rhythm incorporates the use of audio sample playback instead of drum synthesis. PSP Rhythm has been directly influenced by one of our favorite modern drum machines, the Elektron MachineDrum. The most significant is our use of “parameter locks” (as used by the MachineDrum). Parameter locks enable you to change the pitch, volume, balance, start and end time per step to create moving, changing melodies and effects. This control over your sounds will give you much more creative freedom and allow you to not only use drums, but to use instruments in your music.
New features in 3.0:
- Reverse Drums
- Start and End times per drum hit
- Wave File output!

this is good homebrew but when are they gonna make a 2.6 downgrader?i accedently upgraded when i first got my psp :(
I need PSP IRC for talking with computer no other psp :]
This drum machine rules!!! There’s nothing better than banging out beats after getting tired of playing my emulators! This program just gets better. I can’t wait until the next one!!
is there a walk throgh on how to get this on my psp 2.0 This would be my first attempt to do anything like this with it.
also, is there a chance of bricking your psp attempting this. I have no idea
bob I’ve noticed you post the same thing in every comment.
The answer is it will be released 28th Feb 2006. Please do not comment about it again until then it won’t come any earlier. If you keep commenting the creators will hold it back further.
#8 just check the readme for instructions. I got 1.5 so I didn’t try the 2.0 install. There are a couple of links for more info too.
thank you for the help #11, i got eveything in the right places execpt the “loader09.cfg” folder. There is no shuch folder so i made on and pasted the loader.09.update in the folder and it says corrupt data on psp every tim i try something new same thing.
#12. you need to install Fanjita’s EBOOT loader. if you do that correctly then there will be a file (not folder) called loader09.cfg. in there you add the contents of the loader09.cfg.update into. That will configure it to work with Fanjita’s loader. BTW I tested this on a 2.0 and 1.5 and it works. There should be no worry about bricking a PSP because it doesn’t use kernel mode or write to anything but the memory stick.

thank you #13 for the reply, I think i am not seeing something thats in plain site but how do you install the EBOOT loader.
If you have read the instructions and still can’t do it then go to Fanjita’s site. He has a forum and I’m sure someone could help you figure it out.
