PSP Homebrew Tetris on 2.01 and 2.50!

psp3d are reporting that Fanjita was successfully able to load Tetris on PSP’s running 2.01 and 2.50 via Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories – this is the first homebrew ever on firmware version 2.50! You are required to own this title on UMD if you wish to take advantage of this newly discovered hack.
From the included readme:
This is a simple demonstration that homebrew games are possible for PSP firmwares v2.01
and v2.5 via the Grand Theft Auto savegame exploit. It is also a test of the general-purpose
GTA loader that will be used as the basis for running the EBOOT loader on v2.01+.At the moment this game will not work on firmware v2.6, but I hope to release an update very soon
that will. It also will not work on the censored German version of GTA – again, I hope to release an update soon.
The installation is simple:
Unzip the contents of this package into the /psp/savedata folder on your memory stick. Note that if you have an existing savegame that uses slot 5, then this will be overwritten by the Tetris savegame.
To load it up:
Start up GTA as normal. When it has loaded, select “Load Game”, select the Tetris savegame and confirm the load as normal. After a short delay, the Tetris game should start.
Ensure you open the included readme.txt for further details.
Enjoy!
Download Tetris for 2.01 and 2.50!
Hopefully we can look forward to more homebrew on 2.01 and 2.50!

Looks like I’ll have to get GTA:LCS when the 2.01+ loaders are out and confirmed to be working. Not a fan of the series, but I must for the homebrew…
But what do we really want? A firmware loader for 2.5 or a downgrader?

ok, nice and gentle, but when will there be a good working isolader for firmware 2.00 or 2.50
tis takes a long time, first when i buy a psp 3 months ago i thought it will be a matter of weeks, to play most of the psp games on my psp but for now it looks more that it will be a matter of years…

Well i doubt a downgrader anytime soon because when you load this save your psp is in user mode, it doesnt even think about thouching the flash! But Fanjita, i love you!
how do you know if you have the german version? the reason why i am asking is because i’ll have the psp plugged in and everything, but when it gets half way through loading screen and it shuts off.

when i first got my psp and upgraded it to 2.6 i know i didnt know about homebrew well is there a downgrader for 2.6 or does this work with 2.6?

well I can get tetris working on a psp1000 fw 2.1 but it’s not working on our psp1003 fw 2.5

This was not the first homebrew running on 2.5, cheatdevice by edisoncarter was the first. People may not have noticed since it works alongside gta but its still homebrew on 2.x

LOL you’re a retard, this is great news in the advancement of homebrew, enventually after a downgrader comes out those of us with 2.01+ will be able to downgrade to your “awesome” 1.50 firmware.

could someone give me a step by step for this? i tried with my psp plugged in and everything. i have gta. i got it a monthe ago, so i doubt its the german version(i dont know much about this so if i have my facts wrong, im sorry). i saved only the us vrsion to it. the only problem is when it is half way through loading it will just shut of for some reason. i dont know why….
