Deniska has ported the SuperTux (http://super-tux.sf.net) game by Bill Kendrick/Tobias Glaesser over to PSP.
SuperTux is a jump’n run like game, with strong inspiration from the Super Mario Bros games for Nintendo.
Run and jump through multiple worlds, fighting off enemies by jumping on them or bumping them from below. Grabbing power-ups and other stuff on the way.
Controls:
[ANALOG STICK] MENU NAVIGATION & TUX IN GAME MOVEMENTS
[X] PAUSE/OPTION SCREEN
[O] SELECT/FIRE
[TRIANGLE] JUMP
To install: 1.5 users should copy the contents of the 1.5 folder to ms:/PSP/GAME, 1.0 should use the eboot form the 1.0 folder and the data files from 1.5.
This game is incompatible with 2.0 and any later versions, so please don’t ask! (Tested with fanjita’s 0.9 loader for 2.0 and failed).
There are also some known bugs, including full screen toggle and level editor. Extra levels are available here.

It seems I managed to download the wrong file, and hence the one I have posted is outdated.

I wish some1 would port starcraft, or any turn base stratigy game. and would some1 plz fix up the gameboy advance emulator cause so many good turn base stratigy game came out for it.

The game rocks but the port sucks. The key mapping blows. I see no way to change the key mapping either.
Using the analog stick for menu items is a pain the A$$!!! It repeats too quickly.

Lol, did that guy post this just for the sake of it? Because I wouldn’t even count this as a new. Its only a little homebrew game.
No, “that guy” posted it to bring attention to it, and to try and help this site have a move coherent news base, which is more than can be said for some.
The description is actually NOT all that clear as to whether it DOES work with 2.0 or not. Saying it doesn’t work for “2.0+” COULD be interpreted as meaning it does work for 2.0, but just doesn’t work with 2.01, 2.5, or 2.6, right? And “Tested with fanjita’s 0.9 loader for 2.0″ could mean “tested AND WORKS” or “tested and DOESN’T WORK”.
That being said, I assume it does NOT work with 2.0?

A new version is already out that fixes the button maps.

Haven’t tried it for PSP, but I will. I have played it on my iBook,(via a macintosh port) and liked it instantly.
In what folder do the Extra levels go?

In the levels folder do I have make a new folder for the Extra levels or can they be any ware in the /data/levels/ folder?
I believe a new folder is needed.
Can I use any name I what on the new folder?
I guess so, the name the map is called is probably most wise though

seriously I start to believe the guy behind the port is a little bit stupid. did he ever play a jump & run? in the first release it was triangle to jump and circle to fire/run. and now he made it x to fire/run and R-trigger to jump?? what will the next release bring? analogue stick to run, d-pad to fire and L & R trigger to move?

for the ppl who got version 2.0 firmware use the downgrader
The newest version IS compatible with Fanjita’s 2.0 ebootloader. I tried it out myself today, whatever- this game is only fun for about 10 minutes.
