Requires

- Firmware update that you want to install (EBOOT.PBP)
- Pbp unpacker by pdc (http://www.pdc.me.uk/pbp/) or another PBP utility.
- psardump02a by PspPet (http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0%2C0%2C0%2C0%2C38%2C599,1,0,0,40,947)
- PSP Firmware Processor by Djboo (http://files.pspupdates.qj.net/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,40,1943)

Method

1) Open firmware update (EBOOT.PBP) with pbp unpacker
2) Extract DATA.PSAR in memory stick root (if memory stick = F:/ in operating system then the extracted file must be F:/DATA.PSAR)

BE CAREFUL : psardump02a don’t manage firmware > 2.50, please wait for 2.60 firmware.

3) Install psardump02a in your memory stick like another homebrew (PSP/GAME)
4) Run psardump02a, he will erase DATA.PSAR and create OUT folder and OUTX folder in memory stick root.
5) Copy all files (EXCEPT README.TXT) of OUTX in OUT (overwrite existing files) and erase OUTX folder.
6) Open OUT/README.TXT file with text editor supporting UNIX format and you will see the firmware files list :

7) You should remake the firmware folders/files structure while using “Regular files” informations in README.TXT.

You can to do it automatically with PSP Firmware Processor utility (follow the instructions in pspfp_readme.txt file) or manually like that :

First, choose a folder which contains flash0 files and another for flash1, example :

{memory stick letter}:/MPHFL_FW/2.00/flash0/ Install me in ms0:/mphfl.inf /MPHFL_FW/2.00/flash0
- Modified string : /MPHFL_FW/2.00/flash0/data/cert/Class1_PCA_G2_V2.cer

We must be save the file ‘ms0:/OUT/Class1_PCA_G2_v2.cer’ (ms0:/ = {memory stick letter}:/) in {memory stick letter}:/MPHFL_FW/2.00/flash0/data/cert/Class1_PCA_G2_V2.cer.

We must create a data folder in {memory stick letter}:/MPHFL_FW/2.00/flash0/ folder and then create in data folder a folder called ‘cert’ and then copy {memory stick letter}:/OUT/Class1_PCA_G2_V2.cer in cert.

You must do that with all files in ‘Regular Files’ list in README.TXT, it’s take time but you must do it only one time.

For IPL files (psp_ipl.bin, part1_psp_ipl.bin, part2_psp_ipl.bin and part3_psp_ipl.bin), just copy in folder that contains flash0 (in example {memory stick letter}:/MPHFL_FW/2.00/flash0/)

-> This step is just useful for flash0, no flash1 files is contains in OUT, See next steps for flash1

To put it plainly The webbrowser (mostly?) and the newer, better AVC video codec are the only things that MPH has working ATM.

You cannot load 2.x games with it (use the 2.X PRX & EBOOT File Decryptor in the download section or something like that)

That means no GTA, PoP, etc. , so stop the redundant, noob questions!

What somebody needs to do is upload the firmware dumps for 2.5 and 2.0 cause its a pain for most to try to get one to work with all the files in the right places. I could of sworn I put every file in the right directories on mine and it loaded fine but when I tried using the enabled AVC it would play em but it showed the icons :/

what the hect is the piont of this mph firmware launcher if it doesn’t launch games like gta that require firmware update 2.xx if u can just upgrade and launch gta and play homebrew using fanjita’s great Eboot Loader. im asking this for future games that will require higher firmware like 2.5 or 2.6

Well I can get the FW 2.50 to run on my FW 1.50 PSP but the wifi does not work. The green light Wlan on the PSP does not come on when it tries to connect. All I get is a connection error. If I turn the wifi switch off the PSP tells me it is off, so I know at least it is looking at it.

Any ideas?

That’s correct folks, Edison Carter unleashes yet another release of his Cheat Device for GTA: Liberty City Stories, to version 0.5. This gamesave cheat is also currently being looked at to allow the running of most all homebrew code for PSPs with firmwares 2.01, and 2.50.

This just seems to good to be true, but in this version you can now change your CPU speed between 222MHz and 333MHz, as well as view your battery level, voltage and temperature (although not available in firmware 2.60.)

He has included a video recorder, to capture your mayhem into an animated .gif file at 8 frames per second, but he notes that he is not sure which cpu MHz setting this works better for. Be sure to press Down+X to stop your video recording before taking the memory card out. The generated .gif file is also uncompressed, and to compress it simply open it into any kind of animated .gif editor and save.

He has also added a Heavy Motorcycle, allowing you to speed through town smashing everything out of your way, turning while power jumping, and a cool flame effect when crashing into walls if you do not turn on ‘Your Car is Indestructible.’

To install, download the correct region-coded gamesave and copy the folder into /PSP/SAVEDATA.

no, this program actually allows for the psp to be your own personal asistant and cook. Make sure you dont have a UMD in the drive though, cause thats where the french toast comes out. I’ve noticed that the portions are a little small, but you can put it on repeat and get a decent meal out of it. Also, this program allows all users to run ISO’s, and homebrew, and even brew your coffee at home……now if that isnt something special i dont know whats wrong with you. this even downgrades psp’s to 1.0 from 3.0, which is due out later this month. cheers!!!
