PSpoofer v2.0 - Now With Auto Splitting & Joining

greg | December 10, 2005

Cleatus of Troy has rewritten a portion of modsyn’s handy PSpoof app.

Previously you were limited to only transfering files no larger than 2MB. Now, with version 2, you’re able to automatically split files larger than 2MB…

Here’s what ole Cleatus had to say:

I, Cleatus of Troy AL, have reinvented the wheel that is PSPoof. This program now splits images at 2MB evenly and can rejoin them on the other side. Also added was clean up of previous operation (by deleting all ms0:/psp/photo/dataX.jpg files), delete chosen file, and a directory chooser for the output joined file.

So what is this again?
PSpoof allows you to “hide” files within a JPEG image and transfer it between PSPs using 2.0’s photo sharing functionality. That’s it!

Download PSpoofer v2.0

Enjoy!

This isnt homebrew ppl LoL What it does is when ur in photo you can xfer images thru the WiFi to another PSP in the area. This lets u hide any file u want in a picture so you can send them the picture with the file inside and they can use this program on their computer to extract it. It’s pretty neat!

You can only use this software on version 2.00 with a eboot loader. Maybe someday you may be able to run homebrew off the gamesaves directory like the GTA cheat program.

Okay, I don’t get the point of this. I was able to pack a music file (over 2MB) into a .jpg, but I couldn’t send it to my friend’s PSP because the PSP still won’t allow you to send over 2MB.

hi, this version will split the large files into different jpegs. like, a 3 MB mp3 would be split into data0.jpg and data1.jpg where data0.jpg would be 2MB exactly and data1.jpg would be around 1 MB. then, you send both of the images to your friend’s psp. when your friend gets them, he/she would run pspoof and rejoin them into the original 3MB mp3.

make sure that you aren’t using the older version because i didn’t know about the 2MB limit when i wrote it.

Here’s my problem. At first, I couldn’t get this new version to work at all. When I loaded the EBOOT Loader, this would not show up as one of the options along with my emulators. So I combined the files in this new version with the files of the older version (I guess the main thing the new one was missing was the EBOOT.PBP file) and the program works. It only makes one file though, it doesn’t separate it after reaching 2MB like it should.

ah. i see the problem.
the previous version was a standalone. this one you should use luaplayer/lowser to boot. try extracting the files to /PSP/GAME/USERLUA/Applications/PSpoof
