Firmware Launcher v1.3.7u5

Posted by Ian13

Miemt11 has released his 5th (and final patch) for MPH’s Firmware Launcher v.1.3.7.

The overall improvements on the original v1.3.7 launcher are:

  • Include a new special mode for firmware 2.50 (Improve stability).
  • Triangle + SELECT to toggle the mode status (Only can be set before emulation start).
  • Fix some driver.c and patch.c conflict to minimize hang (Only tested on firmware 2.50).
  • Patch the icon.
  • L + SELECT or R + SELECT to load the real/hardware original Sony UMD (Unstable).
  • Internet browser should be more stable when entering web address (May still hang).
  • Press O to quit, before emulation starts.
  • Support the new mphfl.inf structure config.
  • Reduce overall eboot size by 34KB.

I quote from the original readme:

For any questions, problems, read the tutorial and application forum

-> Use with precaution, i am not responsable for possible damage < -

Allows to launch a firmware from the memory stick.

The firmware must be in file format and not in eboot.pbp format, for convert a firmware eboot.pbp in file, use the psardump02a tool

For use only with 1.0 or 1.5 firmware PSPs.

SuperTux PSP Game Port

Posted by Ian13

Deniska has ported the SuperTux (http://super-tux.sf.net) game by Bill Kendrick/Tobias Glaesser over to PSP.

SuperTux is a jump’n run like game, with strong inspiration from the Super Mario Bros games for Nintendo.
Run and jump through multiple worlds, fighting off enemies by jumping on them or bumping them from below. Grabbing power-ups and other stuff on the way.

Controls:
[ANALOG STICK] MENU NAVIGATION & TUX IN GAME MOVEMENTS
[X] PAUSE/OPTION SCREEN
[O] SELECT/FIRE
[TRIANGLE] JUMP

To install: 1.5 users should copy the contents of the 1.5 folder to ms:/PSP/GAME, 1.0 should use the eboot form the 1.0 folder and the data files from 1.5.

This game is incompatible with 2.0 and any later versions, so please don’t ask! (Tested with fanjita’s 0.9 loader for 2.0 and failed).

There are also some known bugs, including full screen toggle and level editor. Extra levels are available here.

Download here!

You may also notice I am new to the psp-hacks.com team. I hope to help increase posting levels and coverage. I will also remove inappropriate comments like any other editor from my posts.

UPDATE:
It seems I managed to download the wrong file, and hence the one I have posted is outdated.

Controls for SuperTux v1.0:
[D-PAD] MENU NAVIGATION & TUX IN GAME MOVEMENTS
[START] PAUSE/OPTION SCREEN
[X] SELECT/FIRE
[R.TRIGGER] JUMP

Most other things seem as before, however I presume there may be some bugfixes.

Download here!

Customized PSP 1.5 Firmware

Posted by greg

GameShark from our forums has released a customized version of the 1.5 firmware - allowing you to take advantage of the new media codecs available in 2.0.

So what is this? It’s basically firmware version 1.5 with extended media capabilities. You will need to use MPH’s Firmware Launcher in conjunction with this download.

Download GameShark’s Customized 1.50 Firmware

Unfortunately you’re still left unable to boot 2.0 required UMD’s - though this may be featured in a future version - providing it’s possible. ;)

Fanjita’ EBOOT loader v0.9

Posted by greg

Fanjita has released a new improved version of his popular EBOOT loader for firmware version 2.0 - this will allow you to run select PSP homebrew apps and games on your version 2.0 PSP.

What’s new? from the readme.txt:

  • Added wifi support! Now the loader auto-detects if the wifi libraries are loaded (via the wifi load method above) and offers them to homebrew for use.
  • Added call to application exit callback, to allow RIN etc. to save state when L+R+START reset is used.
  • Added memory reset after running the menu. This should make things much less sensitive to whatever has been run before them. Can be turned off in config.
  • Added memory reset on exit - this might make it easier to restart the loader.
  • Added config option to fake success code from unknown functions
  • Added clock-speed option to the config file, to allow automatic overclocking / underclocking of applications.

Download EBOOT loader v0.9 - refer to the included readme.txt for further information and instructions, and/or check out the official forum.

Please note - this DOES NOT work on firmware version 2.01+

We at PSP Hacks would like to wish everyone a safe and happy holiday!

Update 2: Recently people have been spamming the comments a lot. We do read these comments, and we will ban those who lie/spam. I’m sure you know who you are, if you can even still see this site. Go spend a few years at school, learn to spell, and grow up.
I’ve deleted all the comments for right now.

2.5 Progress by Fanjita

Posted by Alias420

The Admin over at psp3d have made a very interesting post in their forums. Keep up the great work Fanjita, you da man!

Fanjita, an experienced PSP hacker/coder, well known for the 2.0 EBOOT Loader, along with many other popular hacks, has informed us with an update on the status of the 2.5 EBOOT Loader.

Fanjita states, “Still a long way to go from here, this is basically where the loader 0.2 for 2.0 was at… I got Nem’s Hello World running on 2.5 as an EBOOT through the GTA savegame hack… the code itself is definitely not ready for any release yet… at this point this is more of a progress update than anything else.”

As of now, it seems we may have missed the holiday-time release for the 2.5 EBOOT Loader, but hope is not lost; lots of progress has been made, and the project is on a roll!

PSP Online Sneak Preview

Posted by greg

I just received an email from XiGency with great news on a project currently in the early stages of development. The project is titled “PSP Online” and supposedly it will operate in a similar fashion to Xbox Live - allowing you to easily find and play games online for the PSP.

XiGency here, to tell you about my latest project on PSP Crazy Dev Team. Titled “PSP Online” the idea is similar to XBOX live. An easy way to find and play games online. Not only will this let you download and play any games designed for PSP Online, it will also let you Instant Message, send mail messages, chat in forums, and possibly browse the web.

Key Features:

* Friends / Buddy List
* Clans / other groups
* Server play with Favorites
* Instant Messaging and Chat Rooms
* Mail messaging
* Forum Discussion
* Stat Tracking, Wins / Loses
* Spendable Points, Rankings
* A Complex Online community

This is currently in Development. I have made some great progress. There will be no official release date but it will PROBABLY be ready by February.
