GTA CheatDevice v0.1 released

Spartan 117 from our forums has emailed me about a new hack for Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories, made by Edisoncarter.
It allows you to edit various things in the game, such as spawning any vehicle, getting unlimited health or armor, setting the time, and other misc things.
Here is what Edisoncarter has to say about it.
Here it is! The first and only cheat device for Liberty City Stories!
I implemented a few basic cheats to start with. There’s much more to come!
- Infinite Health and Armor
- Set Wanted Level
- Set Time
- Set Weather
- Spawn AnythingYes, the Hunter is in the game! To fire the chain gun, press SQUARE+X. Be careful with the spawn choices, some of the silly stuff to spawn like Ferry, Train, and the later Dodo choices will crash your game. Dodo 164 is the one that works. I left the full list in so people can have their own go at trying it. Maybe the boat spawns only work near water, for instance.
I don’t have a UK/Euro version yet. I have to wait for the UK copy I ordered from Lik-Sang.
It looks like this currently only works on FW 2.0. So far everyone trying it on 2.5 is reporting failure. Someone who has FW 2.01 needs to try it. I should be able to fix it for 2.5 in a future version.
Unzip the archive to your memory card so the files go in PSP/SAVEDATA/ULUS10041S0. This replaces the first save on the card.
To start CheatDevice, simply load it like a saved game. Do not load CheatDevice again when it’s already running! Your game will probably crash!You’re supposed to be able to load another game save while CheatDevice is running, but it sometimes crashes. At least you can load the CheatDevice save and play around in there. For me at least, I can load another game save once after loading CheatDevice, then if I need to load again, I press L1+R1+UP to unload it, then load it again.
Disclaimer: THIS CAN CRASH YOUR GAME, SO USE IT AT YOUR OWN RISK. Don’t use this for doing missions or when you’re planning to save your game.

nice man,keep it coming,Could it be possible to launch homebrew with this exploit? Or is it only possible to access game parameters with such an exploit?
If it is a “homebrew-exlpoit” this could perhabs lead to other exploits, right?!
So it could perhabs open other doors or at least we all have to buy GTA as a loader for homebrew.
If it is “only” a trainer … nice for the GTA owners!

It may be possible to use this to run homebrew on 2.01+, but it does not work on 2.5, so the chances are low.

and also, i cant load my game after i load this without unloading it! or it will crash =(
hello to anyone who can help in telling me for sure if the psp console i got my wee lad for his xmas which looks to me with it saying system software 2.01 can this be down graded ?

2.01 cannot be downgraded.

To spawn vehicles you have to have to cheat. If you want the helicopter select that under the rhino and then put in the spawn rhino cheat.

also to bad this does work on 2.5 but 2.0 is downgradable so now people have a reason to upgrade and downgrade….becasue there is a possible exploit on 2.0 that is better than the other exploit!!!!

well has anyone tried to use this on 2.01 FW? if not i guess i’ll be the first to try it… hope it works, but i thought 2.01 is the same as 2.5 except for the network and video updates… guess ill resort back to swapping systems if it dont work ;)
this is cool except some things like the rc cars suck b/c if u try getting in them then they freeze the game…would be cool if u could get train working or walk on water haxzzz!

After months of watching and usin this site hacks i must open my mouth. This hack is prob one of the best this site has to offer i was there from the beggining but i watch and let u guys bicker but yea this hack beats dem all screw the down grader i hope they make more like this for other games. The guy who made this rock and jus when i thought this site wasn’t gettin anything new to offer this comes along :)
does this work on the uk version as i found this yesterday along with a helicopter in the garage save file yet it says us and i don’t want to fuck up my save file.

~Off Topic~ When i go on socom, there is never a server that I can play on! Does this have somthing todo with my area? I thought that it was completly online, but i guess not? Can someone thats plaayed it clarify this?

this thing works GREAT!! to use the helicopter just set it on one of the last four choices under the rhino or thrashmaster spawn cheat. then do the rhino code: LTrigger,Ltrigger,Left pad,L trigger, Ltrgger, Right pad, triangle, circle

I love the cheat device but I upgraded to firmware 2.6 and it friggin well won’t work. Is Edison Carter working on a newer cheatdevice that will work on 2.6.
im haveing trouble downloading it. Whenever i try to download it it says the destination can eitherbe /psp/common/,
/psp/photo/, /psp/music/,
/mp_root/100mnvo1, and /mp_root/100anv01. Wich one do i download it under?
you’ve got to use a computer to download it or save it to psp common and transfer to your computer then you unzip it and save it into psp game file ps does not work on psp 2.70 or above
