First post! go me! UMD Ripper is the shiz!

It’s in spanish but just go to “heramientas>Idioma>Ingles”. It doesn’t save your language settings but everything is pretty selft explanatory.

This does organize things very nicely but it still doesn’t break into proprietary files. Ripkits will still be the only solution here in getting the job done. However, there is lots of room for improvement and once the files are decryptable, this will kick major ass.

The program is simple to use and has work for most of my games so far. Noobs should have no problem using this which is good for them. Can’t wait to see the next version.

It helps you rip a game. By selecting the file types you want to rip…

can i rip now colin or something like 1gb bigger to get it on 1gb stick ?

i had to download a .net frame work to use this but i dont think that is waht i am supposed to do

so after you rip the game, then what do you do with it? can u run it off your memory stick or something?

This is great and all but what iso files games will it actually work with? Only one ive got to work is virtua tennis and it only removed 5kb or so, nothing remotely helpfull. I have the isos unpacked and in folders. i selct them everthing is fine from there but when i click musiv, videos or dummy files, nothing come up on the right where it should. except with virtua tennis…….

It doesn’t work with the iso off Grand theft auto.

That stays 1.16 gig.

@ 13, it doesnt matter how big GTA is, you’ll wont be able to get it to work from ISO for 1.5, unless 2.0 has a UMD emulator that i’m not aware of??

This program supposedly “aids in reducing the overall file size of an ISO, without the use of any individual rip-kit or messy manual work”. I don’t understand how this works.

I’ve put my Ridge Racer in UMD GEN and it’s come out at 600odd meg rather than 200 more. All I have done is delete the update.

Other games I haven’t even done anything with other than unzip the iso using Winrar, stick it in UMD Gen for a look and then put it back together again, and it has reduced the size.

Dunno how/why it does this but it’s cool as it means I can get more games on my memory stick.

#13 – i got GTA – LCS down to 831 mb by extracting it in WINRAR, then turning back into and iso with VcdromX. I don’t know why it worked with this game because when i’ve done it in the past the file stays the same size unless u remove any. Must be the Artisan release or sumthin.

btw, why do you guys care about a GTA ISO? There’s no loader yet anyway

when there is one for 2.0 you’ll be ready to go, plus if u put it in the ISO folder and run it with UMD Emulator u can see the GTA screen on your PSP, with a small trailer. It just won’t load the game when u hit X.

when you guys had shrunk the iso file does it do any damage to the game itself??like the audio or cinematics or anythin….

i never shrunk it, just extracted it, then turned it back into an iso. There must be some kind of unneeded pad file that WINRAR doesn’t extract. And no it doesn’t damage anything, cause i’ve done this with other working (emulated on 1.5) ISO’s and the game plays fine.

my mp root files were gone after i downgraded my psp, does that harm my psp?

Can i use this to actually rip the game off of a umd for backup purposes, how?

I don’t beleive that you can run any ISOs file right now with this EBOOT loader.

wtf mate? i dont understand spanish… i run the installer and it has a box that pops up right away… it says something in spanish about the .net framework… i click SI’ , thats spanish for yes and it takes me to the microsoft page to download .net framework… OK ive installed it already! now when i try to run it again it does the same popup box in spanish and if i click no it just quits and yes it takes me to microsoft site again!!! the installer does not work WHY?? how come newbs dont have these problems?
