Fix Blank Upgrade Screen

Alias420 | October 25, 2005

This isn’t new and has been in our forums for some time, but seems to be popping up more now due to GTA requiring v2.0. Some people get a blank screen with just an X and O at the bottom. The fix is really quite simple. Go in to the systems settings menu and reset to default. You should now be able to upgrade your PSP to 2.0.

Firmware v2.0 EBoot Loader v0.7 Released.

Alias420 | October 23, 2005

Fanjita has released his latest version of the 2.0’s EBoot loader. As with previous releases this does not allow you to launch all homebrew only a select group of small homebrew can currently be used. Here is what Fanjita has to say about this release:

This program builds on the work done by Saotome to load homebrew EBOOT.PBPs
into PSPs with v2.0 firmware, using the TIFF exploit. It will not work
on any other firmware version - including v2.01.

It currently cannot run all known homebrew, but it uses a number of tricks
to get substantially further than ever before. Known limitations are:

- Can’t run kernel-mode applications.
- Some minor system calls are still unsupported.

It’s also still very much in development, so the user interface isn’t
very nice to look at, and a lot of the output is cryptic.

You can grab EBoot Loader v0.7 in our downloads section or by clicking here

Fired Up Browser for the PSP

Gary13579 | October 23, 2005

I am sure people have seen this on other sites; it was not made by anyone here. This version is from PSP Crazy, but I think it should be posted here anyway.
The Fired Up browser is, obviously, a web browser ripped out of the game Fired up.
To play this, you will need the program UMD Emulator 0.8c. It will NOT work in FastLoader.

To use, copy over the folder WEB into the root dir of your memory stick. Then, copy over the ISO file into the folder X:\ISO, where X is your PSP drive.
After that, go into UMD Emulator, and start up the ISO. After it gets to the splash screen, go down to Extras, and choose Download.
It should then have a link that says “Connect”. Click there, and choose your WiFi profile. It will bring you to a page with a few links and a URL bar.
From here on, it’s just like the WipeOut Browser, only faster.

You can download the browser here.

New Sony DVR to be PSP Compatible

Alias420 | October 21, 2005

Sony is putting out their new DVR, the Sugo Roku RDR-AX75, featuring compatibility with the PSP — you will be able to transfer video to a memory stick via USB. If you run out of space on one memory stick, it will split the file and allow you to link multiple memory sticks. With a 250GB hard drive this device is going to be debuting in Japan in a month’s time from now at a price of somewhere near $700, it will only be compatible with PSP firmware version 2.50 or above — of course we’ll have to see if a version changer on a 1.50 can’t fix that.

Hacker Fuses an iTrip with a PSP

Alias420 | October 21, 2005

This isn’t the newest news but it’s still quite note worthy. badacetechshow.com has a step by step documentation available on their experiences with fitting an iTrip (a FM transmitter) inside a PSP so you can broadcast your MP3’s to any near by radio without a messy dongle hanging out the side. I wonder what else someone will figure out can fit inside a PSP?
