this is how the gam developers decide on what firmware they r going to use for there games

if there is a fireware that just came out and the games havent started production yet then the newest fw wont be required in the game becuase the fw just came out and not every1 has acec to internet all the time
so what they do is take one of the lateest fw that mostly every1 has n they make that one manditory

i think sony will make all future psp games 2.0 only so that people can play homebrew still but they would have to buy the game instead of getting it for free because if they made it 2.5 only less people would buy the game becuase u cant downgrade and sony would lose money

Maybe someone needs to make an UMD (well there are no burners yet :s) with emulation software for homebrew? I asume that software on a UMD could run anything from a memorystick?
Just thinking a bit, but some company could make such an UMD.

#1 dont be so naive, ive already stated that this was going to be Sony’s only leverage… This is how there going to get us to abandone our Godly 1.5 and 2.0 versions…Games will soon require the 2.5 upgrade and 3.0 and whatever.
The only reason these games that r being released now do not require 2.1 or higher is because the game was already in production when the2.0 upgrade was released so they didn’t have time to use 2.1. Its sad really… we need to hurry up and acces Homebrew on the 2.1, then we will be 1step ahead of them…..

I don’t think any games will require 2.5 cause it was merely a quick fix agiasnt homebrew, their first 2.01 was a quicker fix but sony realized after 2.01 they thought ppl would be like “oh gee thanks for nothin” so they released 2.5 soon afterwards to make it look like they actually did something(they didnt). I’m guessing there will be a certain # of games requiring just 2.0 until a 2.0 ISO loader comes out then they’ll release 3.0 and start makin games so u need 3.0 to run them.

anything that would need 2.5(which probaly wont be any games at all) to run could be run on 2.0 if a version changer came out but theres not even a need for one yet

I wish someone would go all out and make custom firmware. Like make it a cross between 1.50 and 2.50, enabling loaders and the webbrowser. Then the person could release the firmware, and then we could mess with it.

At he moment you can only load a UMD, don’t try to go on the internet or look at your saved data. Just go straight to UMD and press X!!!!!!

Lol, i was considering not up’ping it but then i thought..

If you dont want to emulate an ISO, instead of selecting Sys Menu etc.. select OFF on that part!

The readme tells you how to set it all up.. Just open the Emu 2.00 Folder and put all the folders, (F0, F1, PSP, UMDEMULATOR and ISO) on the root of your memory stick and then put an iso in he ISO folder if you’re gonna emulate an ISO!!! Or just leave it empty.

This ISN’T for pirate’s, it’s for people who wish to play BACKEDUP Iso’s or UMD’s without losing Homebrew…

NOTE: It may not work because i haven’t tested a UMD etc. that requires a certain codec like GTA… I’m still waiting for my GTA UMD to get to me from Ebay..”

This is shit. I’m not going to lose homebrew. It’s a really interesting use of the PSP, the 16 bit stuff, the other apps. Can’t blame Sony for wanting to make money, can you? But what you can blame them for is greed. Remember with the PS1 and PS2, all the shit games that came out for it. It’ll be the same with the PSP.

Until someone comes out with a way to write to the flash on version 2.0, we will never get ISO loaders OR version changers. Without version changers, it is very easy for to write a line of code to check for 2.01 or higher, and theres nothing we can do about it.

We just need to pray that someone figures out how to write to the flash, or soon games will require version 2.01 and we won’t have any downgrader to fall back on.

i reckon sony will lose customers because i know a few people who brought the psp just because you could run homebrew’s. We really need a way to write homebrews so hopefully nothing can stop them loading up.

Yeah, i used that and it worked like a charm. Now I can downgrade my psp when I feel like using homebrew(god bless psp revolution).
