Considering that the 2Gb memory stick, let alone an official one, is considerably more expensive than this item that is not only twice the capacity but also comes with an X2 battery, your criticisms are a tad unfair.

And in terms of size, after playing for more than five minutes on mine I’m normally wishing the thing had a bit more back to hold on to to uncramp my hands anyway. (Also a 4gb duo wouldn’t enable you to purchase the much cheaper CF cards as this does)

I can’t stress enough how impracticle this is.

It ruins the whole portable aspect of the psp.
As for the battery, it only adds one houre to the battery life.
And you think that its worth $200 for a compact flash drive that has slower read and write times than a memory stick?

He meant squares of 2, not multiples. Maybe you’re skull is a little too thick to figure that out what he meant though. Also, a Gigabyte is 1024 Megabytes, not 1028.

im happy with my 1 gig, i have 724 megabytes left on it now…the only thing a 4 gig would be usefule for is putting games on you psp or movies

It’s is amazing how dumb people can be, have you priced 4 gig cf cards? The cheapest one at newegg.com is $209. This is one of those, a cf to memory stick bridge, a case for it, and a battery. And the thing is hardely any bigger than a cf case. What do you want magic? There just isn’t anyway to make it smaller right now.

It’s cheaper than something twice the capacity, and comes with a free battery. The load times are more than a memory stick obviously, yet faster than a UMD, making it better for PSP games.

For those who don’t want to empty their wallet for outrageously priced duos, and get the pluses of extra battery, space, and ability to use their own Compact Flash cards, there’s no contest.

Practical, and there’s a market for it. Pros and cons like every other alternative, stop trashing it to make yourself feel better about your duo purchase/s.

i would get this if you could get a larger microdrive but the review said that the psp couldn’t read the 8 gig microdrive. so that sucks

my bad on #26 it was a 6 gig microdrive.

Also, that 4GB HDD is fucking huge, shitty, and uses extra battery life. Sony needs to make an offical HDD that’s slimmer, bigger, and uses less battery power in the future to compete with iPod Video. However, Sony has everyone beat in the portable gaming category right now. :D

I like it, but you all are right…. its too big… you cant fit it in your pocket OR the case that came with the psp. They need to find a better way to make these hard drives. Id rather buy the 2GB duo.

you can find a 2gb memory stick pro duo for $102 at tech_google in ebay. I got mine and it works just fine it just takes a little while to get here from Hong Kong.
