To whom needs help hacking downgrading their psp’s,

I had a big problem downgrading from 2.0 to 1.50. I would put the overflow.tiff file in the photo dir. and the h.bin and index.dat files in the root dir. But when I clicked on Photo (on psp, not computer)it would crash. I did research on this and other sites and found out that I was wrong! Not only do you need those files but you also need frame_buffer.png in the photo dir. Before you copy overflow.tiff from computer to E:\(my drive letter for psp)PSP\PHOTO, you need to copy frame_buffer.png to that dir., set it to wallpaper, delete it, THEN copy overflow.tiff. Don’t run the overflow.tiff untill you put theh.bin and index.dat files on the memory stick where you see PSP and Mp_root.(you don’t pu them in the root dir. (Mp_root)

i dont kno how but i think that the easiest way to run homebrew is to make a portal (like winpsp portal) that can read eboot files i wouldnt kno how to design it but u guyz can tell me if u think it can be done. its just an idea for u guyz that kno how to design and make all the cool shit thats on the site

Well they site didn’t post my downgrade (#72) as of yet so I’ll submit it here. Okay this is only for people that are at versions above 2.0, don’t upgrade to try it because you may screw yourself over, and NOTE THIS MAY BE RISKY,IT HAS ONLY BEEN TRYED ON MY OWN PSP!

Okay, heres how:
1)Borrow a copy of the new GTA from a friend, blockbuster, ect. (don’t steal it, thats bad, don’t buy because if the downgrade works, you can play it.)

2)put the UMD in and you will see an upgrade icon come up under the UMD icon. Plug in the AC adaptor and use the upgrade, if it was like mine it will “UPGRADE” from 2.52 to 2.0, Dumb Sony! It may take a few trys but should work (also other UMDs may have a similar UPGRADE option, but i only know of GTA, others may work!)

3)Once in in version 2.0 use the downgader on this site to obtain VERSION 1.5!!!

Sure I found it on a hunch, and it technically took no hacking on my part, it is a very useful glitch

Oh and I have a Ver 1.5, so i don’t come to this forum often, sorry if some of you dot a little jumpy, and also I give this discovery to PSP-hacks alone, so don’t give it to other hack sites, keep it here as long as possible.

To upgrade to 2.52 I used the upgrade built into Marvel Nemesis, thats how you get 2.52.
Anyway… you may have to try the upgrade and mess around with the psp, try the upgrade with AC adapter not attached, then put it in when prompted. Try many times over and over again. IT WORKED, THIS IS NOT A HOAX! Try it and mess with the AC pull out times. really this works keep trying. Oh try removing your memory stick when you try, so no data screws up or gets in the way.
