Divx works fine. Tested with vids from a.b.w.ppc.m because of similar screen size. Up the clock to 333 for better video (triangle).

Also - not that I can read Chinese, but I did experiment a bit and you can change screen format by pressing “Start” while the video is playing.

I you use pochetdivxencoder (http://divx.ppccool.com/) with the pocket pc filter, Your vid’s (25 min) will be like 40 mb and this player plays it perfect!!!

I have found this to be a great application. Will have to follow this. Finally something besides those crappy MP4 and that AVC you have to update for. =)

I have noticed it plays wmv’s a little better than xvid avi. I don’t have a divx encoder at work installed so I don’t know. Some videos jump and some don’t. I think the main cause is audio. Will test a file with no audio in a moment. Can’t wait for another version!

I think the wierd text says something reguarding “please wait” or “Buffering”

I get that when the kbps is to high or the video can’t be displayed. Usually i just lower the resolution or bitrate to 3-400kbps and it works. my porno plays good. hopefully the newer versions will help us out. Great app still though.

Have a version 1.0 PSP. Followed instructions and placed PMP & PMP% under PSP\GAME folder. Placed a DIVX avi under PSP\Video folder. Upon launching Media Player, receive the following error:
“The game could not be started. (80020130)”
Have tried different files (divx, xvid with differing res and fr) to no avail. Have also deleted player files and re-added them. Also, the EBOOT.PSP for the PMP folder shows up as corrupted data but the PMP%\eboot.psp appears fine just errors out with above.
Any ideas?

It aint working. it plays the first 2 min an then says regret to imform you your psp has crashed. LoL nice try anyway. I tried it on 333 and 266 an it aint work

All I get is some Korean text and sound on a black background. I have selected the avi from the /video/ folder. I hear it but see no picture. Do I have to resize me avi files? I tried it with both XVID and DIVX 3.0 Avis

weird thing is wen u press start, seems to lock up the whole psp, even then i press home and press yes to quite the program, it locks up, got to manually reset it, POS

Yea this is the one true app that WILL make people down grade. I hate people saying “but 2.0’s got AVC MP4″ FUCK MP4, File size is an issue and I’ve got a 1GB Memory Stick”

Yea I’ve found some movies work and some don’t, sometimes I get a picture and sounds, sometimes I get just sound. Depending on the clip.
I reckon its something to do with the Divx Encode version. some may be encoded with Divx6 which may not be supported?! who knows

Anyway Great app, Can we expect an update anytime soon?

@30, you need to use the portable profile settings under the encoder option to make DIVX or XVID play back well. Lower bitrate work better as less to process, advance option should be turned off as they can slow down the play. Also always use resolutions that are divisable by 8 as that is the size of a macroblock, something every important to the encoder.

This app looks very promissing. Assuming this is just C/C++ code they there is still at least 40% maybe more performence to be gotten.

When this can play & resize on the file movies that are 640×386 then this will be a killer app, most stuff from the web will then just play without re-encoding with is important.

I have tried files of many different types and bitrates on this program and the best it can do is only the audio any suggestions?

This guy needs to get all the current WMP7 8 and 9 ASF WMV video codecs in his next release. I got porn that has like 14 minuts of play time in 18mb files at 320×240 at 15 frames a second.

I renecoded some of these with “River Past Video Cleaner” go to pirate bay peoples download the latest version. Anyways I used it to rencode these asf/wmv files to the latest Divx 6 version in normal compress keep frame rate and size. You can rencode to mp3 for the audio so you have to stick with pcm. I selected 44.1 khz stereo. This 18mb file turned into a 144mb after it was renecoded. I then took this converted file into Virtual Dub and rencoded the PCM to a mono mp3 using the lameenc.dll and I used a direct stream conversion of the video. Check it out man!!

Now that file size is 32 megs and fucking beattiful. Now if this media player had the ASF WMV file support- it sortta plays the audio ok on unconverted ASf files but the picture is not working. Well i mean if it had this support i could hold like 3 or more hours of film on a little 256 msduo! Simply awsome

i think this program sucks the quality on it sucks and if u downloaded it to watch videos ur extremly stupid because u can get video converters and place videos in the mproot folder with way better quality then this

Your smoking crack #50 there is no macro block hell or mega fucking pixel bleed when using this player (all depending on your videos source of course) You can not say that about psp stand alone player. Lay off the pipe bra!

The movies play greatly but the sound is mixed up with the video like a bang will come up and then like five seconds later the picture of the bang will come up… any suggestions on what I can do to stop it from delaying?
