I edited the BIN file and put “Welcome to the beginning to hacking 2.0″ instead of the etxt that was already there, and it worked as expected. Thsi is great too! I found out that if u clcik on the web browser, the PSP wont completely freeze, but it will sit there unable to loaod the browser!

OK HERE ARE THE DIRECTIONS FOR RUNNING Hello World:

1) Download Hello World from psp-hacks.com
2) If you don’t have WinRar, go to google and search for it and download it.
3) After you have downloaded Hello World, open WinRar and drag and drop frame_buffer.png into the Photo section on your PSP. (PSP>Photo>)
4) Disconnect your psp from your computer.
5) Go to the Photo section on your psp. Launch frame_buffer.png (or use the slideshow function to do this).
6) Connect your psp back to your computer.
7) Delete frame_buffer.png from your psp.
8) Open WinRar and drag and drop the overflow file to the photo section.
9) While WinRar is open and while your psp is connected to your computer, drag and drop h.bin from WinRar into the Root folder of your psp. (Root folder is the folder you click on when you open My Computer and when you click on the folder for the new storage device.)
9) Disconnect your psp from your computer.
10) Go to the Photo section on your psp and scroll all the way to the bottom. Select the black picture.
11) If a red bold shaded rectangle and some words appear under that, this program is working fine and your done. If this doesn’t appear, then re-read these directions.

** This program is ONLY proof that v. 2.0 has been hacked. It is not a program nor is it anything that you can use. It is clear evidence ONLY.

Directions For Deleting Hello World:

1) Connect your psp to your computer.
2) In the Root Directory or Folder, delete h.bin.
3) In the Photo section of your psp (PSP>Photo>) delete the overflow file.
4) Disconnect your psp from your computer.
5) Go to the photo section on your psp and everything should be working fine.

** In case your psp freezes or does not respond to your commands, hold the power switch on your psp up for 10 to 15 seconds untill your psp shuts off.

This freezes when you click on the MS, so just get the WAB(or Any) FW changer to work, I’ll use my D JR 1.50 update to run off the UMD.

I really cant get mad at the majority of the people because their anger is coming out of ignorance. The main point of hello world is to proov the evidence that 2.0 can run homebrew, though it may not seem like much but if you think of the process of what had to be done it amazing. Executing hello world is in an .EXE file (just an example not real file) wich is programmed to show u the text “hello world” when you run that program. Well now this may not be a big deal now, but all of your home brew files (including emulators) run from executable files, just like “hello World”. For people who are purely for roms and other gaming files just sit tight, there is a bright future coming, though it may not be as fast as you would like, it is coming. Please do not get mad or flame this program because you dont understand it, just scroll thru the forums and take a look at what other people post to get a good idea of the importance of “hello world”. All there is now is to just wait.

Thanks #156. I have 1.5, but I still understand the importance. Some of you need to think a bit. I didn’t understand homebrew on 1.5 when it first came out, but I kept trying and trying. It’s a process of trial and error. You’ll figure it out. No need to get crazy. A little bit of wasted time isn’t going to hurt you. People need to learn to put one and one together. “Wait, this program was downloaded, and now it’s working on my 2.0 PSP”. You’d think that would hint Homebrew, but I guess not. That’s all Hello World is and ever was anyway. If it can be run, so can other things.

hello world is proof that 2.0 can run unsigned code, that is anything that has not been oficialy licenced by sony or a contracted developer.

…. did u even read my posts (152) and many others the whole point of “hello world” is proof of 2.0 haven home brew apps, and i believe the 2.0 fix is much simpaler tehn the old 1.5 work around (any one remember the memory card switch) the pictures arent that complicated compared to the old 1.5 method. Just because it isnt idiot proof doesnt mean it doesnt exist. So people quit saying when or if 2.0 gets home brew they are going to upgrade, where the fact is 2.0 DOES HAVE HOMEBREW NOW we just need people to make application for 2.0, just because it isnt instant or explained a way you can understand doesnt mean it doesnt exist. This is really recent, and to right programs take a pretty long time especially its for free, so please be patient im sure many people are working on a program now as many of us argue over nothing. I was expecting this thread to be full of congrats and excitement, not flames and such, this is only the beggining =) and i cant wait for the next update or submit on psp-hacks to see whats new on 2.0

In regards to the comments being full of junk, we shouldn’t encourage them, just ignore them, I find it hard to write a comment and be articulate, swearing seems to be the easy way out. Is there any way to code the forums/comments so that a moderator can mark certain comments as flame/noob..etc so that we could have intelligent comments up front, with the others as branches…kinda like /.

Hey what is all this stuff about only 64kB and all that. Can’t you link an “executable” that jumps to another “executable” some have doubts b/c of the 64 kB range to work with. I have my hopes. If hello world can run then why can’t other code? But this doesn’t solve the fact that sony is gonna make 2.1 and then 2.2 and then 3.0 ect.ect. So even if this exploit does get used to its full capacity I hope hackers will continue to look for other ways into the system and please keep it under wraps b/c when they “patch” this, we will need another way in and if they keep on finding out all the ways in, they will eventually lock it up so tight that it would be almost impossible to break in. I wonder if they will go all the way to v 99.0 one day or will they just quit and give up. We all know time is money and programming firmware doesn’t come exactly cheap. Sony isn’t doing the best right now either (In its other departments). Do you think they will ever just give in? Nintendo homebrew has never gone away. In fact you can get a flash card very easily. For some reason every hack for their systems involves some kind of hardware in order to break in to their systems and even with all the hacks for DS and GBA, they still do amazingly well.

It all makes me wonder what idiots are in charge at Sony. If they tried supported homebrew, they would probably sell about 100 million more PSP units. As opposed trying to lock the PSP down for the sake of trying to copy protect a selection of on the whole a selection of very average games. Hum the way i see it, Sony should have put thier efforts into prevent pirating in the UMD disks (make em really hard to read and crack) so that way PSP’s can support homebrew with little worries of PSP pirated games (im sure sony can care less about old gen games) but im sure any games try to prevent piracy any means possible, and i guess security on thier firm ware is one of those means…

Just a question dont take it negative in anyway against the programmers theyre doing a great job — If you can make an exploit fora firmware version couldnt you also make an exploit to downgrader. Personally this would make it a lot easier to run homebrew as we could downgrade to a 1.0.

#213, havint that “Hello World” do nothing is Exciting! if u at least see words blinking and flying around ur screen, that already notes that there is suttin behind the 2.0 that is workin and then the security is gonna lower, until soon (hopefully today) we get homebrew.

I thought having 2.0 was da shit..but then more homebrews and applications came out and i got a higher memo card…I used to get pissed at every update lol but now we all have a chance at the great stuff!! ok another thing, just replace ur old h bin file, then put the main c from the foler filmwareflash DONT USE THE ONE FROM MEMORYFLASH FOLDER, then open it all the same way before, and it will say dumping files in the top left corner, and then it takes awhile, but it shows u the prgress!!!!!!!!! good luck and happy dumping

This progam sucks. Because it messed up my PSP. I want to start my browser. The PSP freezes. I’ve to reset my PSP. To let it work again. But if I want to start anything he freezes again. I’ve deleted the files and now is my PSP working good again. I wait for a good progam.

umm poster #225, ur an idiot, what you should ahve done is read the comments and look at what this program is before upgrading. The program didnt break the psp, the user broke it, every one here can run it just fine with no problems (after you finish with the code, just delete overload again thru the USB, and everything would be normal once again). Well because of ur impatience and inability to do a little research your in the same boat as the 2.0 users of waiting for programs made for 2.0. As a downgrader, all of em are most likely hoaxes and a waste of time just wait for the real programers to release your emulating programs (should be a few weeks tops and most likely an auto loader can be made but dont know yet)
