PSP UMDGEN v1.00
Gary13579 | September 19, 2005
Create PSP Universal Media Disc compliant iSO images. PSP UMDGEN currently supports importing FileList.txt files and exporting iML/iMS files. Future updates will likely include features such as File Relinking (ie: you can drop an entire game into the window, relink Pad0 to Pad1, and it will immediately show the smaller total size) and also the ability to Save/Load Projects along with support for ‘hidden’ files. $ony will likely start doing this in future PSP titles, so the ability to add files to the iSO that don’t show up in the TOC may indeed prove useful at some point.
In short, this means you can now make PSP ISOs without having to use the chinese program :D
Download UMDGEN v1.00 here.

woot!
What are the possibilities of creating movie iso’s with this, then running them through umd emu 0.8?
any ideas?
This doesn’t work. You only can put files but not folders. Although the website says you should be able to drag folders too.
Or you could have just downloaded the english version of the japanese iso packer that came out long ago.
The japanese program being VcdromX? If it is…there is an english verion out, 3.8 and it works just fine. Get it at PSP-spot.com…if this isn’t it, then can someone explain what it is? -Cheers
Nope, cause that one works.
i had the same idea, #2 Tenakalaz. does anyone no if creating a movie iso and playing it with UMD-EMULATOR will work. i’m going to dump my spider-man2 movie and see what the iso looks like.
In reply to #7
It SHOULD work. I’m not promising anything, but I am pretty sure.
You need to have a 2gb stick though, and nearly no one has one.
Spiderman 2 uses up almost all of the space on the UMD, so they are huge..
these guys are wrong… there is an english version of VCDROMX available… i use it and it’s not difficult to use at all.
Does this program create an ISO file the first time, or do you have to create some other file type and then convert it to ISO like VCDROM?
#5, can u pls direct me to the english version of VCDROMX 3.8 as the site u gave me i can only find 3.6
#11: I’m sorry, it’s version 3.6a.
The download site for vcdromx is http://www.iiscn.com/download.htm
Anybody get this UMDGen to work?
Ok guys, I got this to work. first attempt, with a JAPANESE VERSION OF RIDGE RACER.
Basically I got a hookboot version, which is not an ISO.
I CAN drag folders into the thing, but they must be named like PSP_GAME.
If you drag PSP_GAME and UMD_DATA, EVERYTHING needed for the game WILL GET TRANSFERRED OVER.
The ISO works with PSP DEVICE HOOK V0.22
#13, u got link for vcdromx 3.8 as i heard that v4.1 dont work with rebuilding to the iso’s that work with the loaders
#15, nvm I found it
A few pointers:-
1. Only use this if your ISO doesn’t work with vcdromx.
2. Y? because the game may contain an LBA which requires you to have the files in the same order as the original. You must use ISObuster to know what the original ISO is like. What you then do is drag the folders and files across and arrange the layout to match that of the original..
There are some issues with this program and improvements need to be made. The fact that files can’t be inserted inside folders afterwards. Also Layout only allows you to move one file at a time whereas the Sony cd/dvd gen for the ps2 games allowed more options and features..
I thought it’s worth comment that vcdromx isn’t a “japanese program”, actually, it’s chinese :/

I am aware that there is an English version of Vcdromx, but before posting this I could not find it anywhere. I will be downloading it now..
#18
Doesn’t matter to me really, as I don’t have any of those language packs installed, so all I see is ????? ;)
I’ll edit it anyway, thanks for pointing it out.
Is MikeG lurking anywhere or anyone that knows how to make an .ini for his umd shrinker? Gripshift looks like it has a 600 MB file base.pak with just { in it. It would be nice to rip that out of there.
okay. about creating movie isos: maybe it will work. but the problem is UMD video and DVD video use different file systems.
for instance: DVD uses simple structure:
VTS_AUDIO
VTS_VIDEO
vob, ifo, etc files
most of the time everything is in vts_video folder.
UMD structure (spider-man2):
UMD VIDEO
CLIPINF
clp files (?)
RESOURCE
rco files (?)
STREAM
mps files (video itself)
icons, menu music, etc.
umd_data.bin
if only anyone knew how to create a mps files u could just replace them and be able to put iso on a smaller mem cards depending on your movie size. i wonder if the resolutin would as great as it is on real UMDs.
#21, i’m not too sure what you mean, but there is an option to generate the files in a certain order, from a list.txt or something
FUCK
this utility is AWSOME!!! hats off the the author of the program. this program is just what i needed for rebuilding psp isoz. thankzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz…………. :)
could u please tell me how to use the program umdgem v1.00?? if you know could you please send me an email at gangsta_195@msn.com
hey any 2.0 hacks?????
For those with issues with UMDGEN – I have found that it does not seem to like compressed folders under XP – it will add the files but not the folders. Decompress your folder structure and it works.
