PALGN Launches Smart PSP Formatting

Sydney, Australia, 10 September 2005 - The PAL Gaming Network (PALGN) has today launched its new technology, designed to detect and correctly render web pages viewed via the PSP browser.

“With the recent launch of the PSP browser, it is becoming increasingly important for websites to be aware of alternate methods that users can utilise when accessing content” says James Gay, PALGN Manger. “Surprisingly many gaming media sites are not PSP friendly at the most basic functional level.”

PALGN has solved these problems by becoming one of the first sites to automatically detect when it is being viewed on a PSP and adjust its design accordingly. The special PSP design rearranges content to make each page fit onto the PSP screen. Some clever code design has been used to help speed up the processing time while the PSP renders each page.

The PALGN front page (http://palgn.com.au) will now completely load in under 10 seconds on a PSP with a typical Wi-Fi connection. Most other pages will completely load in under 15 seconds.

James says: “Those of you lucky enough to be in possession of a PSP with firmware 2.0 simply need to point your PSP browser to http://palgn.com.au to check out the design. Everyone else will simply have to dream of a time when toilet breaks while playing World of Warcraft become a chance to catch up on the latest PAL Gaming news.”

Wow, this will completely revolutionize the intarweb! (Actually this is just PR bullshit, creating a different theme for a website based on your user agent is common on many webpages.)

“Those of you lucky enough to be in possession of a PSP with firmware 2.0″

LMFAO.

Anyway, we can do anything wiht 1.5 and even if new games requires 1.5x + all we need is the wab version trick.

Not bad on adjusting the things. what im looking more for is faster page lodaing. Even using my schools t3 connection the web pages still takes like 12 seconds to load.
