Comments (26)UMDFTP v1
greg | August 21, 2005
source: psphacks.net
dbase has released a modified version of PSPKRAZY’s FTP code. This piece of homebrew will allow you to establish an FTP connection with your PSP and access the UMD drive.
To use this homebrew
- Use static ip address with PSP. DHCP DOES NOT WORK !!
- Start UMDFTP homebrew app
- Wait till app ask for you to insert UMD
- Login into your PSP with a FTP app on your computer. (*NOTE* I used WsFTP PRO and FlashFXP with little problems).
- Transfer files :)
Below is from the included readme:
This app is buggy, but does work. Sometimes app will hang if to many files are selected at once. There is probally a automated way to do this, but I do not know of one.
Also the home button is jacked up, and I dont really intent to update this app. HTTPUMD is what I am working on now, and I think is will be a much better way to access UMD’s via external source untill a UMDUSB app can be accompished.
Shouts to TALL_GUY for the news
Comments (22)Fast Loader v0.7!
greg | August 21, 2005
Humma Kavula has released Fast Loader v0.7! Many new additions and fixes have been made in this release. Best of all you’re no longer required to eject and re-insert the UMD and it supports an integrated UMD dumper!
v0.7 changes:
- no longer need of removing UMD while selectiong ISO – just insert any UMD at startup and play around !
- even more compatible (RR works now, others possibly too …)
- Possibility to start inserted UMD from selection menu (to allow overclocking)
- New backpic (”V0.7″) for ISOMISC/
- integrated UMD dumper with splitting, pausing and USB function!
- Dumps the inserted UMD into the ISO/ drawer (”My latest Dump”) if no splitting is selected
- Dumps to ISOSPLIT/ drawer (”My latest Dump_Part #”) on splitting
- Splitting of the files can be in 10 MB, 20 MB, 50MB, 100MB, 200MB, 400MB and 800 MB chunks
- Auto pause mode (”*autopause*”) : Pauses the dumping once a splitpart reached the selected size, so you can turn on USB (triangle), save the part to the PC, delete from MemStick after and go on with the dumping of the next part (resume with square)
- Splitted parts can be concated together with “copy /b” for example
- ***** Warning : The dumper DOESNT check the free space on Memstick for now ! *****
(Make sure it fits before, either splitted or unsplitted !) - ***** Make sure you add a drawer ISOSPLIT/ on the root of your MemStick ! *****
Thanks to cdfreak for the news update.

Comments (6)SmashPack + Brew Pack Generator
greg | August 20, 2005
Terdinglage has put together what he calls the SmashPack. It is a version of SmashGpsp which contains 12 bonus levels he created and 12 of the best custom characters out there. Easily installed by extracting the .zip to the root directory of your PSP, its a great way to enhance your SmashGpsp experience. Terdinglage felt the pack could be put to better use, so he approached PSPBrew.com with turning his pack into one of Brew’s unique Pack Generators. Monkeymaximus, the site’s admin accepted his request, and here’s what he had to say.
“”Within the next few days, we will be releasing a new version of our one of a kind Pack Generator – the SmashPack Generator. We’d like to give special thanks to Terdinglage for developing the levels and constructing the pack as without him this wouldn’t have been possible. The SmashPack Generator will give you the ability to choose from a list of all the currently available levels and characters that you want in your version of SmashGpsp. This allows you to have your own unique version of the game, with the characters and levels YOU want, not what the developers want! To top it all off, it will be just as simple as our original Pack Generator. Just run the auto-extracting zip and install to the root of your PSP.”
Here are the current lists of characters and levels the Generator will have:
Character List:
Chrono, Chun Li, Contra, Coolspot, dante, Forte, Goemon, Gold Elite, Guile, Harpuia, Inuyasha, Jack, Link, Luigi (original), Majin Yusuke, Mario (original), Master Chief, Mecha Sonic, Megaman, Megaman Zero, Metool, Moriya, Pacman, Qwest, Retro Link, Riku, Rockman, Samurai Jack, Samus, Shadow, Sonic, Sora, Tails, Trunks, Wolverine, Zero.
