First off, that “pre-release” above is fake. It’s the version changer that tricks your 1.5 into being a different version so you can play UMDs that require a higher version. That’s all.

Second: 2.00 hasn’t been hacked yet. Anyone who says they have, but isn’t releasing it for whatever reasons is either lying, or an asshole. Not that it matters to me, cause I was didn’t update from 1.51 to 2.00.

Third: That person that was only going to email it to 150 people was that “Hello_There” person, the idiot who was probably sending out viruses. Ignore him, and everything he posts regarding that.

Oh, and fourth: My 1.51 anxiously awaits a downgrade. Hopefully it’ll be finished soon, so that I can finally play that nice Rockman Dash ISO that’ll be finished downloading in about 10 minutes.

MAYBE on the next sony upgrade, they will have a new feature that will allow you, somehow, put homebrew games on your psp. 1)There aint no downgrader coming from 1.52 - 1.51 to 1.50. Hmm, that would require the PSP to be HOMEBREW ABLE, now wouldn’t it?

2)Euros ARE, and I repeat, ARE getting the 2.0 firmware on their PSPs. Anyone saying other wise had too much Bullshit Crunch for breakfast.

I just bought a new psp 1st september from Germany. It has 1.52 firmware. There was a warning to upgrade it, but I didn’t :D I’ll wait for all the games that will come for 1.52 :D.

Well I also bought my PSP today and it did indeed have 1.52 firmware installed and the demo disk contains the 2.0 upgrade.

So will this downgrade be getting released?

I keep on checking like the rest of 1.52 europe, still nothing. The hope is still there.

PSP was launched yesterday in Australia. I think it came out like the euro version. not sure whether it is 1.51 or 1.52 but it does come with the 2.0 update umd.
I called playstation technical center before i made this order to check what firmware it will come with.
They told me that it was going to be v1.0 and will come with 2.0 update umd
I was tricked…

I got a 1.50 PSP. But I am tired of brain dead hackers like Yoshihiro making the PSP Developer scene look like a bunch retards because he wants to steal some glory by hoaxing the whole community, rather than doing some actual work.

Anyone who has worked with PSP development knows that a legitimate downgrade is impossible, since we cannot acquire the AES keys and Signatures to produce software that the PSP can run.

And if they are produced illegitimately and released, then you can expect to be visiting Yoshihiro in jail, since Sony won’t let that shit fly. And trust me, there is no way to maintain legitamacy and downgrade the firmware. Not to mention, if the file is a legitimate attempt to downgrade, ie homebrew-made downgrader, well guess what, that one work since 1.52 and 1.51 doesn’t allow non-encrypted, non-signed ELFs to run…

So rather than defending this person who is just trying to get the community stirred up over nothing, why not actually get your fucking facts straight rather than buy into everything you read.

I live in northern Europe and bought a PSP at the release, 2005-09-01 (sept 1st). It’s 1.52. I haven’t looked at the demo disc though, so I can’t tell if the 2.0 update is there or not. (Been busy playing wipeout.) I’m waiting until the downgrade is said (by Yoshihiro-kun) to be relativly safe. GO YOSHI!!! :D
