I was worried about trying this program,version one came out the other day.I finally said fuck it Ill try it ,wanting to see if it would work with death jr iso.When I hit the button for 1.52 firmware it asked me to plug in my power adapter.Why would you have to do that.I heard when you upgrade firmware you have to plug in your adapter.This ain’t some kind of trick to get 1.5 users to upgrade firmware and not be able to go back is it.Kinda leary about trying it.

that is, you run this, it spoofs your firmware as 1.52, and then you put in death jr and it works.

Yoshihiro from Wab has released version 2 of the Wab version changer. “This is described as the First Firmware Trick for Games that need Firmware 1.52 to run on your PSP and Cant Run UPDATER 1.52 or 2.0. The System thinks it’s a PSP v1.52 ,v1.0 ,v2.0 even if its a v1.5 or 1.0.

Unrar the file and put the Folders into :
X:/PSP/GAMES/
Then follow the instructions on the screen

START : Quit without change
Square : Trick to Firm v1.0
Circle : Back to Firm v1.5
Cross : Trick to Firm v1.52
Triangle : Trick to Firmware v2.0
When is done you can go to System Settings > System Information and Check Your System Version :=) Then launch the game! Enjoy!!�

This will NOT work for people with firmware versions 1.52, 1.52, or 2.0. It’s a homebrew application just like any other homebrew, so it will not work on versions greater than 1.5.

Inorder for it to work, you have to plug your AC adapter and the light has to be ORANGE. It wont work if your battery if fully charged.

the real question is will this work later down the line when GTA comes out. Because IMO games right now are just alright, not anything special. I dont think the PSP has been pushed to its highest capabilities yet, but ne way i wonder if they might have a fix when that comes out.

All this program does is trick the PSP into THINKING it’s running version 2.0, etc, when in fact you’re still running 1.50. Which means that you’ll NEVER be forced to upgrade, and can play any new games which are released, while still being able to play your homebrew. You’re not running version 2.0, so no web browser.

Basically, when you started up one of these games before, it would go like this:

UMD: “Yo, what version you running.”

PSP: “Version 1.50. So we can play homebrew and emulators and stuff like that.”

UMD: “Hey, no way, bud. You ain’t playing THIS game til you update. Peace.”

Whereas once you’ve run this program, it goes like this:

UMD: “Yo, what version you running?”

PSP: “Er.. *cough* version 2.0, of course. I’m a good boy.”

UMD: “Oh right. Sweet. Let’s do this thing.”

ok , Thx for the tip about it ONLY works when the light is ORANGE. Its working now… *fake* patached it to 2.0, while its still 1.0.After that tried a game that needed 1.5 firmware : Midnight Club3. But the game wont load. Anyone help please

This release does not work on Euro UMD movie and music discs. Which is the main reason I got it it says disc cannot be started.

i think i may have had the same problem as these gta guys. worked great for medievil but froze for nba 06. both games require 2.0

ive used this on my downgraded psp to play fifa06 from umd can i now trick a mates ver2.01 into thinking its 1.5 then upgrading to 2.0 proper then downgrade to ver 1.5 and then patch to think its ver 2.0
