I don’t even want to fathom how slow this must be. Bochs is unsuitable for running any real world apps on high end PCs, I somehow don’t expect anyone to get much use out of it on PSP. It’s more of a good debugging tool than an emulator meant for running anything…

HOW TO GET IT TO WORK ON 1.5!?
Here how:
two methods of going around this.

1) Download kxploit from the download section. if you can’t find out how to it. then you shouldnt be using a computer. Read instructions. but it should be common sense.

2) Take current eboot file. extract the data.psp file and rename it to eboot.pbp. create 2 folders. 1 called ‘NAME’ another called ‘NAME%’. place the eboot file with the data extracted out into that folder.

now put the data.psp file(which was then renamed to eboot.pbp) and put it in the ‘NAME’ folder.

but if your just a hard core noob and want the easy fast way of doing it. just do method (1)

I can’t get this to work, I put the files exactly as how it was, the VM in the root, and the other one in games, but it dosent work, i can get to that first screen, but i cant tell if its loading or just sitting there

Alright so I have linux on it and its up and running, I also got DOS to work. Wonderful =) Now what can I do with it? Anything that I can do with those OS? Where do I change the Boch config to direct my files anyhow? And is that how I start running my own apps? Any help would be great.

How old are you guys, have you never seen dos before?? at this point you are supose to do what you want, like run an exe or enter a dir. whatever floats your boat. BUT!!! because we dont have a keyboard to type all this out, you will have to edit the bat file to pre build it to do whatever you do.

PLEASE NOOBS, READ THE MOST OF THE SITE AND READ TXT FILE!!!! IF YOU DONT KNOW HOW TO USE DOS, OR EVER SEEN IT IN YOUR LIFE, DONT USE THIS PROGRAM.

Pick up a book on Dos, and learn how it all works. its like MIRC.

READ THE LAST PARAGRAPH

“To run your own games in DOS, download WinImage here and open c.img from FreeDOS. Extract autoexec.bat, add the commands you would like it to run, ie: prince.exe (prince of persia), save the edited autoexec and put it back.

This mean, open the autoexec.bat file in text editor, and put your command lines in. eg.

c:\
cd bin
cd games
test.exe
—–end——–

this means you have to place the test.exe file in the :\bin\games\ folder int he image file.

if you have problems with this. i suggest you go to chapters or any computer book store and buy how to use dos for idiots or something.

Here the answer for you guys that cant seem to follow instructions.

The Dos Shell is pretty much what you want to use. what you have to do is this.

1) place the win95 install in the image file, and install it from there. (you would be stupid to do it this way).

2) or you can create a partition on your computer. install windows 95 onto it. then image the drive. copy the content to the c.img file on the dos folder, and modify the bat file to run windows.

they are NOT going to post windows 95 online for download, or this site would be a piracy site. If you really want to go through all the trouble to run windows on your psp then go for it. but other wise this is useless for the average psp user.

if the dos program is exceed 10M, how to enlarge the c.img?

I tried to create a 20M c.img by bximage.exe but it can’t be recognised by winimage. What can I do now?

Actually to install Win95 its very easy as long as you have the win95 cd its a piece of cake to install

when i edit the “c.img” file that comes with the freedos package, to put in my own stuff (i’m using winimage) and then i save it, the image size magically goes from 10,404 KB to 10,398 KB. THEN IT DOESN’T WORK!!! why is the size shrinking and then it won’t work on my psp?

I got this other version of windows (also 95) it’s about 150megs big, but includes all the features that 95 on the pc had. IE explorer is tweakable meaning it’s possible to use it to connect to a wi-fi.

I’m sorry, I don’t want to be a hater or bust on anyone considered a “noob” here, but lets get real. If you don’t know how to cd to a directory, or what the fuck an exe file is then you clearly have no need for this. Hacks and mods for the sake of hacks and mods are one thing, but only if it means something to you. If you’ve never touched dos, or can’t handle an operating system that doesn’t have a mouse, then don’t bother with this.

Wow a lotta people r havin trouble wit it, even i am, but hey lets make it easy 4 evryone, how about some one makes EXACTLY all the folders that go in the psp so dat all we have to do is copy all the folders and paste them on da root of the mem stick, as evyone knows u cnt send a folder so just put them all as a RAR or ZIP file that will contain these foders, then all we have to do is extract them to the root of the memorystick, after someone does this problem solved (until someone makes there own loader for the browser) i dont chek in here recently so some 1 please do me da favor of sending me da RAR or ZIP file to randomuser626@yahoo.com, thnks

Quick note for all those asking where they can get Win ‘95 images: uh, duhhhh – it may no longer really be in use, but Windows ‘95 is technically still copyrighted software, and therefore cannot be freely distributed.

As for the whole “what do I do with C:>” thing – OMG! Talk about making me feel old! I was using DOS before I could even type!
