I hope this provides insight towards launching UMD ISO’s off the memory stick - that’d be ideal. Also bypassing firmware checks is brilliant too.

No - this will NOT launch downloaded UMD ISOs off the memory stick. Not yet anyway.

I am taking a shot in the dark here. I think having it boot from boot.bin, instead of eboot.bin maybe the key. Now, if you were to put files (not .iso) on ms, then you direct the loader to psp\game\sysdir\boot.bin , there maybe a chance. I know nothing about writting code so I couldn’t test instructions. This may seem too easy, but you never know until you try.

Thats what this does, it uses boot.bin to launch the UMD.

and maybe ms? like I said before, I don’t know anything about coding to test out the “rumored” ability to launch executable files of ms.

This only launces the UMD. So it simulates the same action of clicking on the UMD game, music, video icon. This is good. The reason fot he update of 1.52 update was to allow u to select UMD from the music list, but with this, no needfor that shit and wutever it does!

This is NOT useless by ANY means. Say 3 months from now you go buy Burnout Legends and you pop it in, all of a sudden an error comes on, “You must update to 1.52 to play”. If you update you can’t play homebrew, if you don’t you can’t play the game you bought. Turn on this loader, make it force boot the disc, and bam, no upgrade needed. Sounds far from useless to me. It shouldn’t be long now until they boot isos off ms now either from this.

cant the person who made this just use the idea from dont worry’s post and direct the app to a directory with an extracted iso on the mem stick instead of the umd since they would both still have a boot.bin

i am thinking you have to do it yourself for legal reasons. which is impossible for me to do, due to lack of knowledge.

its not legal reasons if it was possible the idea would have been shared and the file would be up through torrents or mirrored from sites like megaupload

so with that in mind it’s not possible yet and im sure all these easy concepts you thought of have been tried already just gonna have to wait

Im pretty sure sony would release a cease and desist order to stop it from even being released, as this would open the doors to piracy costing the company money…

and besides http://www.psphacker.com already stated that they wont be posting a link to a loader that permits loading the games of the memory card due to legal issues

I think that programming this app with the code the emulators use that tell the emulator to execute the rom on the ROMS folder. Any programmers out there that have the source for this emulators that can write this code.

This thing cant load aything that U cant do already. Its useless for now. It shows potential. Oh and there is NO Fing differentce between the 1.0 and the 1.5 files. All the 1.5 does is that the readme says. “To make this into 1.5, use KXploit. WTF!??!? That’s gay, why not do it 4 us? U guys might as welll delete the 1.0 one and just keep the other.

Delete the 1.0 one? Are you on crack! I bet there’s more v1.0 in this scene then v1.5. Just because you can boot HB with v1.5 doesn’t mean v1.0 is out the door or no good. I would much rather boot with none of that extra crap you v1.5 guys/gals have to deal with.

Files for the most part will be released as is. Whatever the different versions out there have to do to the files afterwards is completely up to those people.

seeing as how i talked Sony into letting me exchange my updated ver. 1.51 BRICK into a beautiful, non-scratched 1.50 for free(i didn’t even show a receipt), it then made me wonder that at some point in time i will have to update if i wanna play new games and use new Sony software.

That’s not the case now.
