Sony PSP Media Center
greg | June 23, 2005
A new homebrew program expanding on the PSP’s ability to play different media formats has been released. It’s called PSP Media Center and is available in our downloads section or by clicking here.
Currently plays MP3s, MODs and partially OGGs (they jitter).
Uses libMad, Tremor and adresd’s MOD code.
Place media files in /PSP/MUSIC but not in a subdir.
For MODs, only .mod will work. AHX support is in the works.
only 44khz files are currently supported, although others may partially work.

That’s Nice…
next step, we need .divx support!
who listens to mods anymore.. :p
Thank You
xvid and other are in the work, I am sure the guys are busy coding.. good job !
cool!
Many people listen to mods :)
This is what I’ve been waiting for. Specificly a media player for video though. Hopefully someone comes up with a player that can use the full resolution of the PSP. To me that would really STICK IT to Sony. What they did with the resolution really pisses me off! The heck with them and thier PSP DVDs.
I’ll have to wait until tonight to play with this though but I suspect it will be an awesome app!
ya, a big slap in their face, for now its just text mode. hehe
i want the bootup mod..
im still waiting on that i seen it over at :

;mode=thread&order=0&thold=0
Trues, they fucked up withus having to use gay MPEG4s. I also wiash someone would make a GIF viewer for PSP and #6, no. sorry, but hombrew currently doesnt work with 1.51 or 1.52. guess u’ll just have to wait til they hack that
This program has a lot of potential!! But as of yet it needs alot of work.
I wouldnt get this to play mp3 unless it outweigh’s the audio player that is already there( like some kinda of visual affects : p )
As for media play even if it really basic but plays mpg, avi, mpeg, you know all the good stuff then i would definetaly use it!
Btw Gj and GL on the devolopment on this future homebrew : )
yeah this should be further expanded to play avi at least
I cant wait to play Xvids on PSP, MPEG4 are to big. Great to see Open formats as OGG and others come to the PSP world. Great Job made by the developers. Maybe the guys at xboxmediacenter could colaborate on this proyect too.
What I really want is FLAC support.
sonys software makes mpeg4’s up to a 1/4 size bigger just so u need a bigger memeroy card so a 25 mb video is now like 31 just screwing u over enough to have to get a bigger one lol
what i think we all really want is shockwave flash support that would kick ass on mad levels -hot movies hot games small files
shockwave fucking sucks who wants that anyway, everyone is going for xvid, divx and you are what? going for shockwave? pffft
why would sony only include support for mpeg4 and mp3? the psp as a huge appeal (games aside) as a portable media center….hence its functionality with all popular windows file formats would have made alot more sense……..i know the psp is still relativley new but is anyone else getting a little nervous? regarding its sales(umd and psp)(or lack thier of) i really dont want this thing to flop
please excuse my spelling…
I spoke to the developer and said that Windows Media files will be nigh impossible to make them supported.
I would certainly like to see streaming of content over WiFi. Might not be all that fast for movies but it would be sick to be able to play a DVD on your computer and have it streamed to your PSP.
15.- shockwave dosnt suck go to newgrounds.com all that stuff is shockwave(flash) and with that it would allow more ppl to make homebrew games, apps and intro movies plus it would allow artist to see there own work on there psp
