PSP Browser Emulator

greg | June 23, 2005

For all those fledgling PSP site designers PSP-Files.com has released a PSP browser emulator so you check to see what your site will look like when displayed on a Sony PSP. The program is still a work in progress and the developer has promised more functionality to come.

I think some people are frustrated with the wipeout browser, it is about time the next homebrew app is a browser! :)

yeah ive been on this emulator before but it was through WIPEOUT .. now it would be REEEEEAL cool if they MADE an emulator program that ran WITHOUT having to use wipeout. And it would let you browse and do all that cool stuff… now let me see some of THAT! :-D

@wifihomebrew, is that pspMediaCentre running on PSP? Where can we see more of it?

@cr, don’t need that much complication, after all PSP has internal memory limits, just a plain play pause button will more than enough for divx playback, next stop, have DR. DIVX certify PSP and add it to their profile for proper dimentions! wow.. things keep coming! :)

John_K & adresd have just released the worlds first Media Centre for the PSP, heres whats in the readme .txt:

v0.5b – June 23 2005
————————————————————-
Currently plays MP3s, MODs and partially OGGs (they jitter).
Uses libMad, Tremor and adresd’s MOD code.

Place media files in /PSP/MUSIC but not in a subdir.
For MODs, only .mod will work. AHX support is in the works.

only 44khz files are currently supported, although others may partially work.

Sorry for telling you all about this “psp web browser” but i find that having a web browser on ur psp is completely POINTLESS! I mean seriouly, the psp is not meant to go on the web, its probably a lot slower then a normal computer accessing the internet! I mean seriously, you need to be inside a wireless zone to use it and most wireless zones contain computers. Psps do not have a keyboard, it would take forever! If I were you, I would not be exited cause it’s just a waste. Peace.

listen the psp web browser will go at the same speed as the speed of your internet that u have at home because it is through wifi, not gprs or that other shit which is very slow, and do get excited over a fully functional psp web browser

As long as it’s not a rip of the Wipeout web browser it should be awesome. The Wipeout browser goes pretty slow, but if someone can make a browser that has full support then it should run pretty nice with a strong wi-fi signal….I’ll stay excited thank you very much :)

Hi,
I think some people here have missed the point of what this is. I made it just this morning as a simple way of testing what sites look like on a PSP screen, using your PC web browser. It doesn’t take into account any problems the browser has with CSS or anything just yet.
It is really best for testing if your site fits on the PSP screen without scroll bars and looks ok.
Thanks for checking it out anyway!
