Piracy will never die, it is a hobby of upcoming programmers who crack software and eventually get hired by big companies. Backups are not illegal just have to back up from your own copy, but of course most people dont know how to do that so they get a rom from somewhere else... its a grey area no one has really been to court for it only had settlements because of lack of money for a lawyer. So all the ppl saying piracy is ghey or whatever shut up same to all those way cool 1337 people stfu back up your own and sit down you 12 year old fat kids

Back to the topic at hand. I can't shake the fact that they mention it "will likely be in the form of a BiOS replacement". This tells me they are only in the strategy portion of their project. How are they going to release anything in the NEAR FUTURE if they aren't even sure it's going to be a BIOS change. That means they have nothing.

And who knows what they meant by near future. They could have just meant it's not going to take the usual year (or whatever) so it could still be months (and months) away.

I remember reading one of these posts mentioning they hoped it was here by this weekend. HAHAHAHAHAHA. Yeah right. They aren't even sure if it going to be a BIOS update or not.

Another guy mentioned checking the site every hour for it's release. That's an even bigger laugh. Dude! Lower it down to once every other day or you'll drive yourself nuts!

Also, I don't believe any of this "testing" crap either. Anyone saying they have a crack but they need more time to test...BS...they don't have anything yet. What is there to test? There is only one PSP. That is if you're replacing the bios then a PSP is a PSP. It's not like we have thousands of different PC configurations to test for. Either you can run unsigned code or you can't. That's juts a pathetic way to buy time. Now if you have to mess with the different firmwares then you have two units to test but again either you can run code or you can't. So at the very least they would release 1.5 and "test" 1.51 later. Otherwise they don't have squat!!!

I give it two months before we start to see light. Hopefully I'm proven wrong. But that seems "near" in the hacking world to me.

If piracy really hurt anyone then why do only 1% of the world's population own over 99% of the world's wealth? Is that fair?

Don't you think we should all have a million dollars? Don't kid yourself, there's more than enough wealth in the world out there for every man woman and child to have a cool million us dollars in their respective piggy banks.

Does anyone actually think that coming on some message board to say "Piracy is wrong" is going to help you sleep at night? Well, maybe, but morality is a personal matter and does not require instruction.

If you really want to attack someone for hurting other people with their actions why don't you go after the bureaucrat and their perpetuation of the same captalistic dogma and the american dream itself.

This isn't the breakdown of society, it's the very fabric that makes up our rich tapestry, the dirt out of which the flower grows. Long live hackers and piracy, until the world works in a such a way that everyone truly has an equal opportunity to fufill their dreams and entertainment is everyone's shared reward.

I wont lie... I personally don't mind piracy. I undestand how this can hurt the people who develope the games, but here's how I see it.

There will always be people who will pay for games and software..no matter how easy something can be pirated. Always!! It's these people who help the software company and game companies make their money and take home profits. Much like the music industry... even with all the pirating of MP3s ou their, everyone is still making money no matter what percentage they claim they are loosing.. the money is comming in by the truck loads.

The same is true even with the PSP. Sony will make a killing no matter how wide spread pirating becomes on the PSP. Just because someone pirates doesn't mean they were going to buy the game anyway. In fact my purchase of the PSP came with the strict intentions that pirating will come to this platform with in the first year.

my gosh, if nintendo can make a killing off of their gameboy which is the easiest and widest spread piracy platform out there, than Sony will have no problems making 10 times more despite what happens to the PSP platform..

And I thank those who buy games ro support the developers and make companies grossly rich... so I don't have too :)
