PSPE 0.9 Released

greg | May 31, 2005

The latest version of PSPE (”PSP Emulator”) for Windows is available in our downloads section or just click here. There are a few minor changes - fonts and mainly a few bug fixes. Here is a screen shot.

Note: PSPE is for testing homebrew applications during the development process - it does not run any retail PSP games on your PC - this means NO Paradox/Dynarox releases.

Possible GTA Liberty City Stories Screenshots

greg | May 29, 2005

After digging through many game-related sites, I noticed at gamefaqs.com there’s been some leaks of what appears to be screenshots of Grand Theft Auto Liberty City Stories running on a PSP. And best of all, some of the screenshots seem to reveal there will be multiplayer action for GTA on the PSP!

Below are the screenshots - you decide whether or not they’re real:

Dynarox saying PSP Loader in Near Future

greg | May 28, 2005

Update: According to the news over at ps2nfo.com - it’s all legit AND the loader will work on all PSP firmware versions - 1.0, 1.50 and 1.51.

“…and the game “loader” will likely be in the form of a BiOS replacement which will work with ALL version PSP units… v1.00, v1.50, v1.51 so don’t worry there guys.”

This is astonishing news, so let’s all sit tight and be patient until more news regarding this topic surfaces.

Update: This just written in Dynarox’s latest nfo, “In a way to admit it , Soon all games will work on V1.0, V1.5. We Need to make some more test. Till then be patient.”

No mention of 1.51.

source: psphacker.com

I was a bit shocked when I first read this, but according to release group, Dynarox, they’re stating in their nfo’s, “In a really near future , a loader will be released to make games work via the memory card.” In which case, I hope is true.

Current games released by Dynarox:

  • Ridge_Racer_USA_PSP
  • Lumines_USA_PSP
  • Smart_Bomb_USA_PSP
  • Gretzky_NHL_2k5_USA_PSP
  • Twisted.Metal.Head.On.USA.PSP

Stay tuned!

Access PSP Browser through Derby Time

greg | May 27, 2005

We posted on this subject last month, “Derby Time” PSP Browser, and decided that since its been confirmed now we’ll post an update.

From the ps2dev.org forums, Vampire has discovered a new user agent string in Derby Time, thus allowing you to access the browser in a similar fashion as Wipeout Pure. The browser itself does not differ in any way; it will provide the same surfing experience as the Wipeout browser. Now you’re not only restricted to purchasing Wipeout in order to take advantage of the “hidden” browser.

PSP & DVD Station

greg | May 26, 2005

source: videobusiness online

DVD Station is apparently going to be offering customers the ability to download films onto their personal media players - including the Sony Playstation Portable! Currently they offer a huge variety of movies for rent or purchase. Users will be able to simply attach their PSP directly to the kiosks or insert their memory stick, with a sufficient amount of space, for an instant transfer.

Currently there are only 14 DVD Station kiosk locations, including one at the Metreon Entertainment Center in San Francisco and New York’s Grand Central Station.

Personally I think this is a great idea and I hope they make their way up to Canada.
