PSP Online with XBConnect!

greg | April 26, 2005

Update: Unfortunately no one was online when I attempted to play, guess the word hasn’t spread that quick yet. However I was successful in getting XBConnect to detect my PSP.

PSP XBConnect

The popular tunneling software XBConnect now supports the PSP! Play your PSP Online now! It currently supports the following games:

  • Ridge Racer
  • ATV Offroad Fury
  • MLB
  • NBA
  • NFL Street 2 Unleashed
  • Tiger Woods PGA Tour
  • Tony Hawk’s Underground 2
  • Twisted Metal Head On
  • Untold Legends
  • Need for Speed Underground Rivals

And I’m sure many more will be supported as time goes on.

The custom hacked router firmware from AhMan, available in our downloads section, also works with XBConnect! Later this evening I will be testing this setup and I’ll let you know the verdict.

Download XBConnect

Yup - we’ve covered that previously. There’s a tutorial on how to setup XLink to work with your PSP. We’ll be posting an XBConnect one later this evening.

Certainly us Mac users would be interested in something in order to connect the listed games like tiger woods golf. So far this is windows only? and I am not referring to aquaduct which I understand is x-box only? Looking to use psp with mac.

Unfortunately XLink and XBConnect only work on Windows.

Yep I knew it already. None works with my PSP though.

I managed to get Xlink Kai to detect my PSP but couldn’t play any games, but that was a couple weeks ago.

I still can’t get XBC to dectect my PSP since the only way to do it appears to be certain WLan adapters and then have the host pc directly connected to the internet.

(Would be easier if it could tunnel through my router to my PC then back out to the internet. Hopefully it will work in the future. I see theres a firmware patch for another router posted up there.)

I have a Netgear MR814v2 router.

I’m using the DDWRT-PSP firmware for the Linksys WRT54G router and XBConnect is able to communicate with my PSP using that method. Unfortunately this firmware will not work with your router.
